I got one about five years ago never really figured it out ... so my question is,
does anybody ever use it for quality rythm crunch, fat p.m. and screaming PH ?
or is it a "solo booster" all and only way ???

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

Hmm I dont know if this helps but i have a TS808 which id asume sounds kinda the same and i use it for rythm more then anything but iv never been able to get crunch out of it. I hope this helped a little.

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

there's no point talking about the ts-9 reissue until you have it modded by stratdeluxer. imho. :bigthumb:

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

hellatone,
what is a strat deluxer mod ??? I play through a strat with invader ...

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

I have several TS-9's modded by John and one TS-808. Great for soloing but I never use them for rythym because they're not a pedal that will clean up well when I turn down the volume knob on my guitar. For that I prefer the Boss DS-1. Lew

He's on this board. Not sure how much his stuff costs but I'm sure it's well worth it. Also check out Keeley mods at robertkeeley.com

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

I use my TS-9 and keep it on all the time.

For rhythm I keep the Volume down around 6 or 7. When I need the boost I just roll it up a bit and maybe head towards the bridge pickup if I feel I need it.

I hate having to look down and have to step on something. I much prefer to have what I need within a pinkys reach when I'm playing something like a Strat.

Really? I use the Boss DS-1 like that sometimes and it lets me get a totally clear rock tone when I turn down the volume on my guitar. But I couldn't get my TS-9 or TS-808 to do that...it won't clean up enough for me. You must use a slightly distorted tone all the time...right? lew

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

Just send a PM to Stratdeluxer97.

In real life, John's a paramedic who works fireman hours, so send the PM then wait patiently. He'll get back to you eventually. ;)

Re: TubeScreamer TS9 reissue

After reading Mike's pm to me it sounds like a TS might be the wrong pedal? Sounds like he needs a DS1 from his examples he gave me...I'd hate to mod his TS9 and have him find out it wasn't heavy enough in the gain dept for him..
