If I were getting a CMG instrument, I'd get one with the "racing stripes" on the body. I'd probably go with stickers as well but what do I know? My preferred guitars have no inlays on them.

See I don't like the look of those that much. To each his own I guess.

I have never owned a no inlay guitar as of yet, but it didn't slow me down at all when I tested out the Ashlee.

Haha, you know my friends and family will probably see this guitar. And not to mention I am pretty sure that would make it hard to sell later one. Haha

This will hopefully take over as my #1 if everything goes well.

I'm ordering a custom guitar from an awesome local brand.

It's not going to be super custom, just some control modifications, but I am looking at inlays since the guitar comes stock with only side dots. Problem is I'm not big on extravagant inlays, and I wouldn't want to do anything that could ruin the resale value of the guitar if I had to sell it.

What shapes would you think would look good by itself just before 12th fret? Would a single block look out of place?

Edit: It is basically a Les Paul with a red front, natural back, sides, and neck. No binding besides the natural exposed maple cap. Oh and a maple headstock veneer

Haha! That nickname is a first! lol

Most welcome man! I've used several of his items before and love it! Haven't used the inlays but thought about getting some someday. A cool side note, several of the designs are also available as strap buttons and truss rod covers so you can get a cool theme going not just in the inlays.

What is wrong with plain fingerboard? Side markers on the binding should suffice.

Nothing at all, I thought I might put a little bit of personalization on it if anything stuck out as cool, simple, and tasteful.
