Re: UGD - Photos and Impressions

Brisk, I felt so bad for you Saturday morning at breakfast!

Me: Are you ok, man, you look a bit green.
Brisk: I'm ok, I'm fine.
Me: You sure?
Brisk: Yeah I am good... I think I'm going to go lay down in my room.

:(

OH! I never got that picture of you holding up one sock!!!! AAAAh, next time!

Ok....who photo shopped this?;)

That is freakin' hillarious! I almost busted out laughing here in the lab at school. That is just too good. :laugh2:

If I were there we would have had some fun.

Re: UGD - Photos and Impressions

When I saw Jeremy enter the bar that first night, I thought, "who's that derelict?" leather gilligan hat on, holes in the jeans, long hair, long beard... I've never met bro before. I've had numerous email converations with him, but I had a great time meeting my fellow Admin.

Brisk. Never took you for a smoker. Also, banging on my door at 8:30 Friday morning so I didn't miss breakfast. Sorry if I gave you nightmares by answering the door basically nekkid.

Jolly. You the man. Nuff said.

T4D... thanks for buying my PRS. No, you can't buy my R8!

I won't go into everyone's names and weird stuff about them like some other wankers. Let's just say everyone I met, I really liked. I really had a marvelous time. I was very sad when I had to leave on Saturday. Damn lonely Saturday night I gotta say.

I also wish I lived nearer to some of you. I'd love to get together and play more. I'm getting pretty sick of playing alone in my music room to backing tracks. Again, gets a bit lonely and turns out to be rather uninspiring after a while. Gotta find a solution to that. It's just that I travel so much that when I'm home my family wants me home and not out playing in some honkey tonk. Oh well. Weekend wanker.

Scott,

I really wanted to meet you so bad but not bad enough to see you naked!

I also felt the same way about being alone as a musician. The UGD was a very good chance to learn from other musicians. By being next to other musicians, I could obsorb a lot of stuffs.

For example, I was very impressed by Robb's humbucker tone. It was so creamy and smooth. I registered it my mental bank and labeled it as "textbook overdriven humbucker tone". Then, I heard Joe playing strat. He had this very natural way of playing guitar. There was almost no strugge. I registered it too. Seymour played without any FX and pick, and the tone was very natural and cut through the mix incredibly well. I don't know how he does it yet and I need to study little bit more about it. Tonewise, Stevo pulled a great tone out of his plexi. I registered it as "classic marshall tone".

BTW, this is my crazy idea but I am willing to be there every year with my own expense if this becomes an anual event. I would like to hang out with my bros and sistas every year. If SD is willing to open thier door once a year for a group of people that are crazy enough to go there with thier expense, we should think about doing this every year.

Cheers,

Re: UGD - Photos and Impressions

I kinda want to echo what Brisk said ...

It would be terrific if we could do AT LEAST the jam part on some kind of occasional basis.

Re: UGD - Photos and Impressions

Yeah, I'm inspired to lose the pick. I wanna give it a try after listening to seymour and jeremy. very cool tone.

Re: UGD - Photos and Impressions

I didn't get to meet very many people, since I'm still pretty new here, but the jam really inspired me. Everyone that played in the jam were some of the best guitarists I've seen. If we all meet up for another jam sometime, I'd like to play, but I'll have to practice a ton first!

I did a little math and came to the conclusion.......I only slept 7 hours the entire time I was there...lol.

I've been re-living this whole trip since I got home. I really don't know what to say. I've led a rather interesting life thusfar, but this trip is right at the top. I just wanna thank you all for putting up with me and my shenanigans...especially my roomate Jeff_H. I don't know how you did it bro.:)
Photoshop I dought it we were just continuing from the A-team.
Jolly you got me so inspired the Sunday afternoon I started to tie one off with a buddy telling him all the lies that never happened.

Re: UGD - Photos and Impressions

You guys crack me up! I'm going to have to continue to strive to be more memorable, my elbow is the only thing that made it into the presentation pic, and I don't have a great title like DINKELOLOGIST!

BTW Robin it was nice to meet you, and don't spend so much time at home....come uhhhh see the great state or AR with Brendan!! :laugh2:

Scott, T4D, Evan IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT :laugh2:
