Ultimate economy straplocks for soft straps.

These are fun and work great for soft leather straps. 1st, you need a pair of extra wide strap buttons. Pretty sure AllParts has them. A local dealer here had them for like $3. Then the fun part. Buy 2 of the 16oz Grolsch beer bottles with the metal wire pop tops with the ceramic cap and red rubber washer. They go on and off easily and I never have had a problem with the strap popping off. They also don't make that annoying metal on metal clinking noise that Dunlop and Schaller straplocks make. Anyway, just thought I would share.

I like it!

Let's see...I have 4 electrics, that's 8 strap buttons. I better get to drinkin'!

I'll have to try this soon. I use the same basic idea on my P bass but I can't remove the strap.

So if you can't remove the strap, you obviously don't NEED any strap lock...

Wait! This affirmation was booby trapped, isn't it...?

Great, I've just lost a leg...

:laugh2: No it wasn't a booby trap. It's just nice to have the option of removing the strap if you want to.

You use the metal washers? Heiniken is great but it would be difficult using the caps. :1:

2 bucks a pop here. Never tried one tough as I'm not really into beer but might buy a couple to try this out.

The Dunlop ergo's have suited me well in the year or so they have been on my guitars but I don't gig and I baby them.
