READ THE CRITERIA BEFORE YOU POST!

This is for the Forums BEST Gibson Les Paul. Criteria for a Less Paul include:
- Les Paul Studio, Deluxe, Standard, or Custom (that family of LP)
- Limited Modifications: Must be ORIGINAL COLOR, Minor hardware changes: Bridge/tuners, knobs, pickguard on/off allowed.

We will hold an open mod contest for whatever you hacked up and repainted later.

Basically, except for perhaps a pup change and/or bridge/tuners, it had better be a bone stock LP.

I will select up to 10 of the best and then we will vote by poll. So, this is the Qualifying HEat, if you will. If you have a junky @$$ 1979 wore out standard, think twice about posting a pic.

So, Let's Go! Post your most awesome LP. Please add a few words at the bottom of the pic to tell us about this candidate for most awesome LP (year, bought for/because, pickups if changed, tone, list of limited mods...

i have a junky-ass 1987 wore out Custom, does that count?

it was born the same year i was

original owner put Antiquities in it then played it so much the finish starting wearing off the neck

at some point it had a Bigsby on it

and now it's the best guitar i own :smokin:

Aceman, would you add an "other" category, for stuff like Double cuts and ****?
BTW, Pockets Les Paul is great- even though it looks like its in great shape to me you almost have to add a category for Road worn and "character" Pauls, like the great one TGWIF is restoring.

1978 Deluxe

I bought it because holy crap you never see these in lefty, and I love Thin Lizzy. I've since swapped out the heavy die cast zinc tailpiece and cruddy rutted bridge in favor of a Tone Pros bridge and RS Guitarworks aluminum tailpiece. Huge sustain from this guitar - it rings from headstock to butt.

Plaintops rule!

That is XSSIVE's old custom shop LPC.

It is still my favorite.

Will we see categories for other LPs? Specials? Yuniors? What about imports? And what about other Gibson-esque's..pointies, SGs, etc?


No longer own it, but here is my old R8. Probably about the only guitar of the very many I have owned that I really, really, wish I had back.

only real Les Paul i own is a beat up re-built 76 Deluxe.... mine ain't winning... LOL
