Unintended NGD...

Yeah, I've got Benedettos on 2 of my guitars, A6 on the Godin and a B6 set on an Eastman John Pisano, and they don't get the recognition that they deserve, IMO...

I've never tried them either. Can you compare them to other PAF-types, like the Antiquity or Seth Lover?

Okay, sorry this took a bit, I've had a really busy non-guitar centric week. I have Seth Lovers in my PRS SE Hollowbody II, and Benedetto A6's in my Godin Montreal Multivoice (I don't have anything with Antiquities, so I can't include those in the race):

I know it's not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, but it's what I've got. So, after A/B-ing them several times, through my Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp, using only clean settings, the Lovers feel clearer, a little better note to note separation, a bit brighter, and I prefer their sound to the A6's. The sound of the A6's is still clear and well-balanced, but just a bit darker, and not quite as clear as the Lovers. There is most likely a degree of acoustic difference between the lighter, fully hollow PRS, and the semi-hollow, dense, heavy mahogany Montreal, but unfortunately for science, I don't really feel like swapping the pups back and forth between them.
I just ordered A6's for the Hagstrom (remember the Hagstrom?), and once I get them installed, I'll do another test with that in the mix...

I'm beginning to think that part of the Hagstrom 'thing' is the total mystique involved in trying to find any useful information about them. The pups are HJ-50'S...great, what does that mean? One of the Hagstrom models features nice locking tuners...where can I buy them? <cue crickets>...good thing I like a challenge!

Thank you for this- it is the best comparison I've read. I bet I'd love the A6s.
