Univibe? Mojo Vibe? Micro Vibe?

Re: Univibe? Mojo Vibe? Micro Vibe?

The only reason I sold it is because it takes up so much space on a pedalboard, and needed to be powered with it's bulky cord. That's where the Voodoo Microvibe makes a lot of sense. The pedal I put in it's place is an old ADA Flange. I got bored with the retro sound of the Vibe pedal, and got instantly hooked on the wild sounds I could get out of the ADA. It's the best flanger ever made, and since it sounds so crazy, I only use it very sparingly, but that sound turns heads. I got outbid on a very rare ADA Final Phase recently. I really wanted that pedal. early ADA stuff sounds amazing.

Well, I ended up getting a Dunlop Uni-Vibe w/expression pedal.

I really like the pulsing throb of this effect. I'm pretty sure it's permanantly replaced my PolyChorus, as it does the rotary speaker thing better, and it has a better sounding chorus (not to mention the fact that I already have a Small Clone for the "swimming in chorus" sound). Once I get a delay pedal I'll have the PolyChorus' feedback covered as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I really can't justify the cost for those other boxes right now......

.....maybe in the future though..... ;)

After 4+ years, how'd the Dunlop treat you?

It was actually pretty good, but I ended up selling it because I needed the money.

I currently own a DejaVibe, in part because there's no wait list and in part because when the US dollar tanked last year new Fulltone stuff was cheaper than Dunlop/MXR stuff that had been imported prior to the price drops.

ARISE! arise my threads of days past. arise real fast

Be careful there! You'll summon up all kinds of things. Probably 90% of this forum and the Pickup Lounge is re-hashed topics. It could be like Ghostbusters!

Honestly, which one sounds the best? Dunlop or Fulltone?

Honestly, they're both good. The Dunlop had a thicker sound and was able to get more intense, whereas the Fulltone is cleaner/clearer and a little more laid back/subtle.

I've got the fulltone mini deja vibe and that thing is awesome! The huge rubber knob that controls speed is also designed so you can use your foot to change it. Not quite as precise as the treadle on an expression pedal but I like it! The only pedal I'd use instead of the Mini Deja Vibe is a Dunlop Rotovibe. Awesome sounding pedal there! I used to have one but it got stolen. I almost bought a new one until I saw a deal on the mini deja vibe I have now..no regrets whatsoever!

I have a Dunlop Uni-Vibe and a Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe. The tone of each is quite nice, but the Dunlop introduces noticeable hiss when not engaged, and sucks some tone even in bypass mode. However, the Mojo Vibe adds a bit of treble that I'm not excited about.
