Used Fret Doctor on the new Washburn fret board and WOW!

Marketing is where a company takes a common inexpensive product

And rebrands it, jacks up the price( profit)
And sells it to customers

Baking soda becomes Comet
Vinegar becomes CLR
Furniture oil becomes assorted guitar related products

There is not much new chemistry in these products

Just Marketing to what some rich people call "suckers"

Good stuff but does nothing to really condition a fret board. You need to get oil back in a dry board and just any oil is not a good thing.
I have rescued many guitars from pawn shops that were neglected and filthy with super dry boards after I got the gunk off. My KOA Carvin was by far the most dramatic with open grain running up that ebony board between several frets. Now you won't find a single open grain after soaking the board a few times with this stuff. It's been 8 years and the cracks never returned.
I have'nt had any fretboards really dry out like that. The weather here is hot but humid so...stuff like strings rusting is more what I have to deal with. Gorgomyte puts the richness back in my fretboards & keeps my frets shiny. If it ain't broke....
