Stratdeluxer97 (or anybody else)...are you happy with the Verbzilla?

Any other suggestions for reverb pedals? (apart from the Holy Grail)

Thanks

Dave

Stratdeluxer97...forgot to mention how much I enjoyed the pics of the inside of the chassis of the amp that you rebuilt...congrats...beautiful electronics work 'bro.

I am totally thrilled with my Verbzilla. Had it a while now and still think it's the absolute best reverb pedal I've ever owned. Lew

I only use the '62 Spring Reverb setting...that's my fave because to me, reverb means "Fender Spring Reverb". So that's the only setting I use. I'm at work and don't have the pedal here in front of me, but what I did was plug it into my '66 Deluxe Reverb and then A/B the Verbzilla and the DR's reverb and set the Verbzilla to sound as close as possible to the DR's reverb. I forget the name of the knob, but it's the knob that controls how quickly the reverb comes on after the initial note is struck. You can set it to give a fast rush of reverb or make it a little more subtle. To capture the authentic tone of real Fender Fender reverb, that knob has to be adjusted properly.

Do you have a Twin Reverb or Pro Reverb or some kind of blackface Fender with reverb?

If so, just experiment a little like I did.

So Jeremy, are you ready to try that refret on my Strat? LOL!

Love it also, thanks to my buddy Lew and others! I'm like Lew in that I Prefer the 62 setting.I also use the hall setting for some stuff for a wide ambient soughta tone...Love the pedal as much now as when I first got it..

Thank you that's much appreciated....This amp is wonderful...Full of harmonic content, great clean tones in an almost Fender clean way...The amp really turned out great and lately I'm using it alot again..

I use the Verbzilla through this amp and it's the reason for having it.

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

I bought one about a month ago. I just bought a Komet 60 head and I needed reverb with it and based on the reviews that Lew and John posted I bought one. I also only really use it in the "spring" settings. For what I need it works great. Although the Komet has a mini toggle on the back of the Amp which goes from Gradual to fast. When I switch it to Fast it increases gain and volume, but for some weird reason it also increases the volume and intensity of the Verbzilla too. Its not a big deal I just turn down the verb and its cool!

It's the Time knob, and I agree it's the key to getting some really authentic old reverb tones with the Verbzilla. Being able to adjust the Decay, the wet/dry Mix and the Time independently as well as having lots of different reverb models makes the Verbzilla a really versatile great-sounding pedal. I love it!

By the way, I took advantage of that special offer Line6 did and picked up a free Echo Park module too. I've only used it on the tape echo setting, but it perfectly nails Brian Robertson's "Still In Love With You" echo! :fing2:

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

i got the echo park module too, i only tried it once and put the verb back it.

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

I like digital reverbs, such as Boss. I have an old Boss RV-2, which is a little noisy, but the newer ones sound awesome. I also have a DigiTech DigiVerb, which is really versatile, and the sounds are great. For settings, I like to keep my reverb effects as subtle as possible.

The Boss is very good...but I sold mine after getting the Verbzilla. The Verbzilla is ALOT better. Lew

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

I haven't tried the VerbZilla. It gets a lot of praise here, so it should be a good one. I chose the DigiTech over the newer Boss RV-5 for the price. When I set my reverb level, I turn it all the way down, close my eyes, and slowly turn it up until I can barely hear it. To me, that is the perfect reverb setting. Also, the Electro-Harmonix, with its single knob would be perfect for my setting technique, but it is not compatible with my power supply. I think next time I go to the music store, I'll check out that Verbzilla.

I like to keep my reverb on the subtle side as well. Like you, I have a DigiVerb, but I found I could never get the mix low enough without the reverb cutting out altogether. Because of that, I decided to pick up a Verbzilla.

I still love the reverb tones on the DigiVerb -- especially the Church setting -- so I have no plans on getting rid of that pedal. I use the Verbzilla with my Celtic and AC30, and I'll probably use the DigiVerb with my Mesa Single Rec (not the Rect-O-Verb model).

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

I picked one up in April and it's a keeper. I run mine through the fx loop of my Stiletto.

I mostly use the Spring setting also. For myself, I kinda like that Ted Nugent 'Stranglehold' level of reverb.

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

Thanks again for the responses.

I'm looking into the Verbzilla.

I don't use much reverb either, but I do like "bigger" dimension that it adds.

Re: Verbzilla and other reverb pedals (Stratdeluxer97)

Actually, because of the low volumes we tend to play, I usually have my signal rather wet. Otherwise, I can't hear it.

Now, when I CRANK the CELTIC, the 'zilla becomes irrelevant and unnecessary.

Is this including the boss rv-3 reverb delay because i don't like the reverbs on that at all and the delay is ok but a little sterile
Im GASing for a verbzilla and echo park at the moment
