VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

Re: VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

Wow. After reading this I never fully realized how little I actually care about this subject. Nice use of emoticons and fonts, though. Lots of things going on to keep my eyes entertained while I think of something else.

Re: VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

And this, folks, is exactly why I stopped talking to this guy.

Maybe what I played was knackered - but I've played both a Pittbull UL and a 100/CL, and the Pittbull was definitely a better choice for metal. It had more gain, had a tighter low end, and just had a more 'aggressive' voice to it.

Just because they use the same amount of gain stages does not mean they'll have the same amount of gain.

And great job with the thinly veiled personal attacks and generalizations, seeing as you haven't said a word to me in... oh, I dunno, two years?

Re: VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

You're mean, Virtual Kevorkian. :(

You have really offended me. I am going to report you. Harsh language, name-calling, it's all here. I was just using colorful language to show you that you didn't have all of yer facts straight. That's all. :tearz:

Re: VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

Jimmy, I don't know your knowledge about electronics and stuff like that. Maybe you are an electronic engineer and you have studied the circuits of all those amps closely to say these things.

But I, on the other hand as being one, I couldn't say all that by only having those charts in front of me. These are just the posistioning and the function of the tubes. I need the circuit schematics to study and say: "That thing has that kind of gain and the other thing has that kind of gain".

For example, I can design as many circuits as you want, using the same components (tubes, op-amps, transistors or whatever), in the same location in the circuit, with the same function and that look identical (not only in terms of charts like these but in person too - completely identical) but still having different amount of gains for each one of them.

AGAIN, no insult intended. Just for the shake of clarification.;) Peace!

And if VHT's were too "dry and atriculate" for me, I wouldn't own one. In fact, I have owned several -- 50/CL, Deliverance, and 100/CL.

High gain? Think ENGL Powerball or Bogner Uberschall, both modern high-gain amps that are very useable.

If you want to play Dokken forever, more power to you. There's nothing wrong with shredding up some LYNCH LIX. I think VHT's sound incredible out of the box, but I want that little extra kick, you know? Do you know what I mean? It's chasing tone.

I know you've been around here for a while and are a somewhat active poster on the forum... either I wasn't paying attention or it's a recent development but I do NOT remember you being this much of an individual before. I shouldn't even reply because you're obviously trolling but what the hell.

As for your amp comparisons, your posting giant pics of amp manuals describing preamp stages, and your assertions that Engl and Bogner are making true high gain amps while VHT is not, etc. I must insist that you are speaking directly from your anus.

I don't care what you say you've owned. I own an Uberschall and the other guitar player in my band has a Deliverance 120. The VHT can totally step to the Bogner, no problem. They're equals. Maybe the Uber can get more gain over all, but it's more than anyone in any band would ever need, at that point and if you think you need more gain than the VHT can give you, even for modern metal, IMO what you really need are guitar lessons.

MetalBlaze, I LOVE you! :)

I really wish I could get the VHT circuits, but he's very hush-hush about that stuff.

I'd love to see an depth analysis with your technical background.

Peace to you too! Yer A-OK!

Would you like to share some recipes?
I get these great Rachel Ray magazines in the mail.
She makes these meals that are totally delish.

sssheeeSH!

When a guy uses some colorful language and shares his recipes, every one else goes all Martha Stewart on him. :(

My intention wasn't to "troll," unless yer taking about that 1986 movie Troll. Have you seen that movie?
It's pretty cheesy , but I dig it. It's a fun watch. Go rent it!

I was just trying to shrae my opinion with you guize on amps.

Sorry, those GIANT piXxX were the only ones I could get. I had to post them to support my opinion. I know you think that I'm speaking out my back side. But If I made unverified claims about th^t amp, don't you think that's speaking out of my anus?

I don't care what you say you've owned.

Well. . . that's sad.

I have nothing but love for you, Sosomething. If you lived in LA, I'd buy you a beer, a sandwich, and take you to a ball game. I am love. Jimmy = Love. See this man? See Jimmy? He is love. Jimmy is love.

I own an Überschall

w0w, you are a lucky man. I really like that amp.

That's kool, dude. That's your opinion, and I respect that.

I am h:)ppy that the Deliverance is working out for yer friend.

But I'm not happy that you insulted my playing when you've never heard it.
I know you talked about Trolling, and I know I talked about making unverified claims, so what do you think you're doing here?

I know exactly what yer doing.

Yer hurting my feelings, and I'm the kinda guy who has low selfesteem. :sigh:

It always would be cool to see what's inside those beasts, but I think it's difficult to get something like that from any manufacturer, as these are their patents I guess.

Reading through this thread again this morning, it's occurred to me that it's freaking hilarious.

No, seriously. This is funny as hell.

I'm done trying to argue with you about this, Jimmy, because it's clear that I'm taking it WAAAAY more seriously than you were, which makes me come off like the... "individual." :D

So yeah, let's grab a beer and trade recipes. :friday:

Re: VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

Yeh I had a feeling that Jimmy was just joking around.

Re: VHT Have updated their site.... sorta.

I find your post offensive, deeply offensive.

What kind of metal are you talking about, d00d?

I'm sorry if it offends you, but you sound like you're 12 cause you think gain is the only thing that makes amps bt00tals!!!!

the VHTs are fully capable of playing modern metalcore stuff like Unearth, Children of Bodom (in fact, both those bands Use VHTs)

I will now stop feeding the troll :D

How about that Rachel Ray? Isn't she something? I love her.

Did you really have a feeling? What kind of feeling? Perhaps, it was. . .

I don't see how it's trolling.

Like you, I just stated my opinion. How is that trolling? Do you want to go into DETAIL and talk about why you think that I'm trolling?

Maybe we can reach a consensus? A compromise? A change of heart?

No?

L:(L

I know those amps work fine for UNEARTH and CHILDREN OF BODOM. . . but, I'm not in those bands, dude.

I shared some facts, and talked about what I didn't like about the amps.

Le :sigh:

If anything good can be taken from this thread, it's this:

Edit: This is going in my ****ing sig. That's how great I think it is.

your opinion about the amps are fine (the fact that you don't like them)... however, you also said that VHTs are amps for old men, and couldn't do modern metal... those "facts" are flat out wrong...

I provided two prime examples of modern metal bands with VHTs fully incorpoated into their sound.

So its perfectly fine that you don't like VHTs for sounding dry and articulate;

It can also still be your opinion that VHTs can't do metal, but you would be a fool to still think so...

Yer reading a little too much into my posts.

I think yer getting what I'm trying to say "flat out wrong". . .

COB doesn't even use the complete VHT amp; he uses a Lee Jackson preamp and VHT poweramp. That's like saying a VHT cabinet makes you sound like yer playing through an Ultra-Lead, LOL.

I never said that VHT couldn't do metal for the bands you mentioned.
Why are you using them as examples?
My playing style isn't anything like theirs, and according to Sosomething, I suck and need guitar lessons. :(

I'm just saying that:

  • VHT has amazing features, but not quite enough gain for my liking
  • I wish VHT would make an amp with more than 4 gain stages
  • I wish VHT would stop making the same amp

Got that? That was a recap for you. :ok:

I'm thinking you JUST LOOKED AT MY POSTING STYLE (!) and figured I was a troll for writing up detailed and flamboyant posts, L:guilty:L

When I talked about old men using VHT's, I was telling the truth. The majority of the d00ds who own VHT's are middle aged men who like to play blues or Van Halen. If you don't believe me, go check out the VHT forum.
Only a handful of metal guys use VHT.
I'm thinking that only a few dudes (with ca$h) use them because there are cheaper alternative$ out there -- like the 5150.

I actually love VHT's for their tight and articulate tone. And, as a matter of fact, that's why I own one! :ZOMFG:

Theabomb12, yer a kewl d00d. I love you.

Much love!

Hey hey hey - just because you suck and need lessons doesn't mean we can't be friends!

Nothing could ever be better than "L:(L"

Now VHT has the SIG: X. Sure, everyone on their forum raves about it, and says that it can do "MEH-TULL!!!!!". . . but, I.Really.Don't.Think.So. I mean, sure, It can do 1987 metal, but it's actually 2008

your words not mine...
