Vibrocloning

i was thinking of gradually vibrocloning my bandmaster, minus the reverb part. Just a heftier Twin output transformer at 8 ohms from mojo or new sensor would do the trick. how difficult is it to swap out a tranny?

A upgrade tranny for a Bandmaster would be a Bassman Tranny IMHO.
Maybe someone more in the know will chime in? But I don't think you
can put a Twin Tranny in bandmaster. Simply Cuz' it has Taps for 4
tubes? So it would be a waste Unless you add two more tubes to the
curcuit. if that's the case? sell it and buy a Showman. :)

Re: Vibrocloning

hmm, i see. I was checking out vibrocloning projects online and they said they used twin output transformers, but only used 2 of the taps or something like that.

I'd probably just go for an axiom bassman multi tap tranny so i can run 8 ohms at full efficiency.

Re: Vibrocloning

or better yet a vibroverb output tranny, its even cheaper than the bassman model and matches my amp better. It's also 8 ohms in the non multi-tap version.

Re: Vibrocloning

vibroclone mod Is this what you want to do to that Amp? I'm the last guy to
advise againest modding something Cuz' I'm a Moddaholic myself :smack:
But I avoid any mod that's irreversable, And i normallay save the old
components. But it's your amp...Do what makes you happy. :)
BTW, Ya might wanna go to the fender forum board and do a seacrh
for this mod. Find out the pros and cons. Good Luck

OF COURSE! THAT'S why people even vibroclone their amps; if it wasn't for cesar diaz making that awesome tone, nobody would be doing this unless someone stumbled upon the idea to run half a twin tranny.

Ive researched the fender forums and they say that it's the best way to go. The Twin tranny runs smoothly when only being half tapped, and at 8 ohms which solves my jbl d130f speaker issue and allows me to run at full efficiency. It also helps get much better bass response and headroom, getting the maximum tone and headroom from the power tubes.

Anyone object?

Re: Vibrocloning

Why don't you try out the forum at Ampage (I'm thinking Amp guys hang there ... doesn't Bruce from Mission Amps go there?) or specific Amplifier forums.

The only real amp guru's here that I know of are Jeff Seal who posts fairly often and Trace who I've seen post here only on rare occasion (he was posting quite recently on a thread here). I know others have built their own amps but I'm not sure how close they are to the level of knowledge that Jeff or Trace have.
