Video - String skipped arpeggios Racer X style + a Megadeth solo

The thread in OT got me thinking about how I use hybrid picking in metal, so I decided to do this video for fun.

It's the outro arps from Scariffied (Racer X), and the main solo section from Symphony of Destruction (Megadeth).

Just wondering if anyone else uses hybrid picking to play string skipped arps (I'm using it to play the note on the high E apart from when there's several notes on that string) and in general metal soloing.

I personally do it because I find it to be the easiest and most comfortable way to get to the next string, but it's also a technique I was 'brought up with' so to speak, as my teacher was a country fan/player... It doesn't feel as natural for me to exclusively use the pick.

What video codec did you use? I can hear the audio, but not see the video (great playing BTW!) :smack:

I don't know tbh! Whatever is on the digital camera.

I did have problems playing a video file once, and got this codec pack

I hope that helps.. If anyone knows which exact codec to point Akrin to that'd be cool

That fixed it! I already had that codec pack in my downloads folder, but I must have forgotten to install it. :laugh2:

That was awesome! I couldn't even tell you were using hybrid picking until I watched it more closely a second time! I want chops like that
