I'd encourage more commentary in the riff-off threads, too. I'm not a recording artist. I'm not a producer. But I have an interest in both of those. I think there's a lot of talent and knowledge in this forum, and I think giving constructive criticism to the riffers helps not only those guys but also people like me who want to learn but don't really know where to start.
P.S. I understand that my lack of knowledge hasn't kept me from posting my stupid commentary.

A huge +1 to this. As battlemaster, I have to censor my opinions, but I'm really hoping the Riff-Offs will be a big learning experience for all involved. It seems to have gone that direction already. There's no better audience on the Internet than this one.

I'm not sure if I agree with that. As a contestant, you can get a much, much better picture of the reception of your submission.
I never competed in the brackets, though, so my reference is limited.

I lost a match-up to Redmist under the bracket system 44:1. It wasn't that much fun ...... LOL!
