Anyopne here have any experience with one of these? I have an opportunity to get one for real cheap ($300) and wondered if I should go for it. It sounds pretty nice, but are these known for being unreliable? I've heard that about el84 tubes. Thanks.

I got one when it 1st came out. I didnt care for it and it blew up in 4 days anyways....go figure????

Re: Vox AC 15cc1

How's the condition of it? They retail for $600, so you might be able to buy it and sell it for a bit of a profit if you don't like it.

Re: Vox AC 15cc1

For that kind of money it's well worth it. The reliability issues are exaggerated. I have one, and it's lovely. Pass it up and regret, or get it, hate it, sell it for same or more?

OK- I might. I've been thinking about it all night. It is about 6 months old and been used quite frequently and hasn't fallen apart yet. Sounds pretty good, and I could use another small amp. I might just do it. Thanks or all the input y'all.:)

. . . does it sound anything like the full grown AC30 ? :eek13:

I mean, if you were to record with that amp, in a good studio, would Brian May think it is an AC30 on the recording ?

Re: Vox AC 15cc1

You're going into debt for a freaking amplifier???

YUP - over here we all do it !

My 20year old cousin bought a USED (but in pristenely-mint cond) Peavey 5150 Combo, and he had to take a personal loan at his bank, and will be in debt for the next THREE YEARS !!! I kid you NOT !

My other cousin bought a 100W ValveKing, and is paying it off over 12 months !!!

Just ask "More-Gear", that's they way we have to do it down here :blackeye:

. . . but still, it is 'very-rock-n-roll' :fing25:

Neither of them have a car, but they do have all-valve amps !!!

It's got the general character, but no...not quite the full mojo. But i tell you, with the blue speaker (celestion alnico), on the creamy edge of breakup, you enter 'the zone'...where you can't help but make a 'guitar face'. And the Creator looks down and says "It Is Good"

And when he hears the AC30, He says "it's slightly better"

Re: Vox AC 15cc1

I tried it out with my overdrive (TCJeffects DGTM) and it sounded pretty awesome. I'm gonna use it on gigs this weekend.
