Vox Da5

I am considering this amp because the Valvetronix 15watt is a bit too load for my apartment. Can anybody explain the amp models for me. They are different than the Valvetronix, I tried to search but came across nothing.

Re: Vox Da5

The bigger models (not the 15 watt) have a power knob on the rear that can lower the wattage down to 1 watt. The Da5 will not sound as good as the bigger models (no tube), but if you are carrrying it around a lot it might be the better choice. Avoid the 30 watt model, bad speaker cabinet combination. Vox has released a new line of Modelers called the XL series geared more toward high gain, still with a few clean channels.
The models (don't quote me I'm too lazy to go look)
Dumble clean
Fender blackface 2x12
Fender Bassman
Vox ac15
Vox ac30
marshall plexi
JCM 800 Marshall
TSL Marshall
Mesa rectifyer
Soldano
Dumble overdrive

Re: Vox Da5

I have the DA15, not bad for a digital amp and dare I say it sounds better than the VT30.

The manual just talks about sound not what amps they're modeled after.

Re: Vox Da5

Yeah, I really only have a 150 dollar buget I would like the 15 watt valvetronix even though it is a bit to loud. Being a College student(Taking 6 years for my undergrad, aka too much fun and not enough studyin) I do not need anything too big, even though I am getting a house in the august I will have roomates, and have another apartment for the year after that. I need something that will inspire me but I do not know anything about these DA5s so any info would be nice....

The Crate GX15 just isnt cutting it.

Re: Vox Da5

I paid 129 plus tax for the DA15. They now make a DA10 too. I think all the amp models are the same in each.
They have headphone/line outs that sound pretty good. Or get a Toneport if you have a computer.
