Warmoth KWS fat rosewood neck

Hi guys.

I have a hollow bodied strat from warmoth. It has a Jazz in the neck and dimarzio distortion in the bridge. It also has roland synth pickup.

I want to get a warmoth neck for it with these specs:
KWS compound radius. Reverse headstock. 25.5 scale.
One piece rosewood neck and fingerboard.
Sperzel locking tuners.
graphite nut.
1 3/4 at the nut, and a fat profile (basically huge neck)
6100 fretwire.
No finish.

What do you guys think it would sound like? The guitar sounds great with my highway 1 maple neck, but i wonder if i can get a much warmer tone out of it with a rosewood neck.

Anyone here have experience with rosewood 1 piece necks? or hollow body strats?

I have 2 guitars with one piece rosewood necks. Neither of them are hollowbodies though, so i dont know how much it would apply. They dont sound too dark and they feel amazing, completely unfinished. It should def be a little warmer than the maple neck. WHats the body wood on your strat?

i like these KWS style necks... but that headstock design may add extra friction at the nut... but other then that i love them

thats pretty similar to the LP clone i built. Had an alder body with an all rosewood neck from USACG. I had mini hums in there so it added a little spank but all around the guitar is very well balanced. Add in the fact yours is hollow and i think you might find what you are looking for. Ive never used single coils in a hollowbody though, so again, i dont know how that would affect it.

EDIT: i forgot to mention that my neck was a 25" scale.

The neck will add some warmth to the overall sound, but if it's solid rosewood, especially if it's Brazilian, it will cost you a small fortune.

I dont know about warmoth, but an all indian rosewood neck from USACG runs about 330 bones...which isnt really that bad. I dont if any1 will make you a solid brazilian rosewood neck these days, honestly dont think it would be worth what you would pay for it anyway.

It is not brazillian. It is indian rosewood. Brazillian would look better for sure.. But I want as much warmth as I can get, that's why I'm going with indian rosewood.

It is actually not that expensive. 237 bucks + Tuning machine cost. I'm also getting a 30 bucks graphtec nut upgrade. Check out their site for neck prices:

They do have some 900 dollar necks there that are solid brazillian rosewood. But that is for super grain ones. The regular one piece solid brazillian rosewood neck goes for 283 bucks at warmoth. Yeah it would look gorgeous, but i'm going with indian on purpose.

It would not be a 1 piece brazillian rosewood neck for 283. It would be brazillian rosewood fingerboard, but indian rosewood neck... it looks like...

Yes I bet a 1 piece brazillian rosewood neck would cost a lot of money...

warmoth are really getting out of hand with the up charges on everything. I just noticed that they now charge you 35 bones for a straight radius on ur neck. So basically, unless you like their compound 9-16"...you have to pay 35 bucks. Im pretty sure thats a somewhat recent change

back in 1995 i had to pay the extra $35 for the straight 10inch radius on my neck... some techs at the areas higher qualilty guitar repair shop don't like the compound radius for some reason... some of them own Warmoth necks and they said they sanded the board to a straight radius on their own axes... so when i ordered my neck i went with 10...

My W strat is a rear routed strat with Swamp Ash/Spalted maple & RW neck/Brazilian fretboard. It sounds like a strat should sound, not bright not fat like a Gibson. The neck is Vintage Modern, unfinished, 10.5 radius, SS6105 frets and graphite nut. The feel of bare wood is great, never going to order another maple neck again.

i love those $999 rosewood necks Warmoth offers.... dam that is the Bling Bling or what... dam i have to stop watching MTV....

anyways i've been wanting to try an all Indian Rosewood neck with a Basswood body... only because that was a nice combo on the Ernie Ball Axis rosewood model.....

9-16" radius seems convenient. Usually a compound radius board would be offered on more expensive guitars, so in a way it is kind of good. Does anyone not like their 9-16" neck? I think it should be good for chords and lead. However I still do play lead on the lower frets a lot - i wonder if I will have problems bending there.

i wouldn't mind trying the Compound radius board myself... see my post above about some techs i knew that didn't like that compound board... but in a way it makes sense to have a compound board to get the strings action down lower... besides lots of techs compound the radius of the top of frets on most necks they work on for dresses...

ive tried a compound neck from warmoth and hated it, flat out. just didnt feel right at all
