Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

Re: Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

Thanks bro! Hell yeah I'm happy! I'm becoming happier and happier the more I play it too, I can't put it down!

You are definitely right on about the satisfaction in putting some sweat into it no doubt too!

Its a shame nobody bothered to use grain filler on that LP body.

Re: Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

Actually, the gold is looking a little less offensive now, might be the offsets of black with it. No doubt it's an awesome guitar though & who else is gonna have one like it?

I like it! The coloring works well together as does the headstock (which is a pleasant surprise to me). I know, I've been accused of douchebaggery in the past about the appearance of people's guitars...but I have nothing bad to say here. Good job!

Then allow me to fill-in and be the stand-in douchebag. Normally I try to bite my tongue but:

This thing is an absolute, hideous abomination on so many levels. The color is gross, the body looks unfinished, the bling, the black, the Fender bolted onto a Gibson?!?! "Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria." :earl:

Re: Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

Oh it's horrendously ugly, make no mistake. The thing looks like the fetid barf of a giant pile of dying octopus fetuses after a fire.

But in it's horrible ugliness, there lives a delicate and understated beauty... and as much as I feel I should hate it, I cannot...

Well stated. I have similar feelings towards some automobiles and, on occasion, other people's children.

Not really actually, I like the "clinged" look. I DID condition the wood though. My next body will be a swamp ash with NO grain filler (proudly) just like Gibson's voodoo or Warmoth's gothic black finishes on swamp ash.

Why?

It allows the wood to breathe better, age faster (thus warming the tone more) and give you overall better tone from the beginning.

Sure, we could all play on guitars that look like they shouldn't be touched, but I play my guitars to play them... period.

Haha, you know? It definitely grows on you if you let it!!

Right on, thanks for your opinion.

It should be noted: It's not a gibson or a fender, in fact I hate both those compaines. Warmoth pays for their liscensing, so it's a Warmoth.

Haha!! I think YOU understand what I did EXACTLY to a tee for some reason.

Check this out: There is an undertone here. The guitar was built and designed in my head to be a snake, a deceiver. At first glance it is REPULSIVE but what's underneath it all might as well be a king's ransom of gold to the ears!!

To truly understand the looks of this guitar you MUST get lost in the theme!

Re: Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

I love it. I fully and completely love everything about it. It's not the guitar I would pick for myself, but it's definitely awesome. Congrats.

I'm a Warmoth LP owner myself, so I may be a bit biased. Here's the thread with pics and description of mine:

The only thing I've changed since then is chrome pickup rings instead of the black.

I am pleased to see you went with the Strat control routing. Good call. I can't really find fault with any of the options you picked honestly. That's a **** cool guitar.

I checked it out, puts mine to shame. I love your girl man, I'd finger her.

Re: Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

You're welcome. Next time you need a random douchebag to shred apart something you hold near and dear just lemme know. ;)

lmao, that's a beautiful line :D I was just thinking about this guitar some more, and I think I can better say why I like it now.

For some reason it makes me think of Art Nouveau furniture and those sort of classic cars you'd see film noir. Don't ask me why-- I guess it's the understated colour, the gold hardware, the round shapes, and the sort of pre-aged look.

But more importantly, like you said, I can see it's a guitar made to be played. I have a few really good guitars, and my favourite is a slightly beaten up ESP M2 Custom. I'm not afraid to chip it, I don't feel restrained in using it, and somehow the battle-scars just make it feel more mine.

I dunno, maybe I'm a bit over-sentimental about guitars...

Yeah, she's sexy, but other than maybe the finish I don't think she really puts yours to shame. Plus, for the mental anguish and hours of labor that finish cost me ... let's just say it's a good thing it turned out well. There were times when I was just about ready to huck the thing into the ocean.

Mine is pretty to look at, but yours has that avant-garde "wow" factor going on. The HSH configuration, the trem, the Strat headstock, the wenge neck, the bare-bones finish ... it all adds up to a very exciting guitar. I bet it's fun as heck to play too.

Re: Warmoth LP bolt-on?? Haha, I thought it might be sweet...

If one of your options is to throw your frustrations in the ocean... I'd say you probably never get that frustrated in the first place. I know what you are sayin to a lesser degree (obviously my finish wasn't as time consuming nor even close!!)

Thanks though! It is a blast to play!
