one of the new Bare Knuckle models will be called "Cold Sweat", and it's based on Gibson's early Dirty Fingers...

How appropriate....Since Sykes is the most famous DF user I know of....and the only one who ever got a decent tone out of them...I hated mine... talk about a scoop buzzy metal sound....don't know how John got such great sounds..

I'd give those stewmac Golden Age pickups a try. At $40 a pop, you can't really go wrong.

I like all kinds of pups...and altho I always grav towards Duncans I have to admit right now even with all the models they make...nothing in the line really suits my needs for my current guitars...vintage to medium output with good bass/low mids, avg treble response and made with a Alnico II or V magnet. Distortion and Custom are too hot and not "warm" enough with the ceramics.

I LOVE the pups on my new McCarty....good god...I had thot about switching them out at first...after putting several hours on the guitar? no friggin way..what a sweet, clear, vintage output design. I may be buying these for all my guitars in the future.

I like *some* DiMarzios....Super Distortion...Air Zone, PAF Pro, Air Norton...HS-3's..

Gibson 57's...BB's are good too...

I'd go for EMG, Bare Knuckles or Lindy Fralin's depending on which guitar and what type of sound I wanted.
