weird buzz problem

Since i changed my strings the other day i've noticed a strange buzz on my epiphone. It is not fretbuzz. It sounds like it is coming from the bridge, but i can't be sure. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

Re: weird buzz problem

Sounds like something is loose on the guitar.... and just because it sounds like it's coming from the bridge it may not be.... on a 96 Mexican Strat with Vintage style tuners i thought i heard buzzing coming from the bridge...... Only later did i find the true source, a bad tuner rattleing with the strings.... Look around your guitar for loose parts.... and see if your tuners pegs wiggle freely...

Did the tunomatic bridge come off? Sometimes they get put back on the wrong way round. If the saddle screws face towards the stop tailpiece they will be pulled up and this can cause ratling.

Also, the top e may be sitting in a slot that is too wide for it.

Re: weird buzz problem

i had the same problem and i thought it was just my crappy bridge. but i changed to a heavier gauge string and the noise was eradicated. still not solved, but now it doesnt buzz.
