Well.. This is strange...

Remember that post I made about the ESP LTD H-400 I put on layaway recently?

Was just doing nightly craigslist search and came across this. https://bham.craigslist.org/msd/5159932796.html

Exact same one. Same pawn shop in Alabaster. They just posted that and then an ad for all the guitars.

Guess we'll be going in and seeing them tomorrow. Good thing I held on to the paperwork. :)

Also, it says right on the layaway paper that the next payment isn't needed until a lot later this month. 20 something.

Re: Well.. This is strange...

You have to be kidding!!! What would possess them to do that? Are they about to close up shop or something? BTW----- Nice guitar.

Re: Well.. This is strange...

It is a great way for them to get someone to respond to the add and then say, "Sorry, that one sold but we've got another ___ that you might be interested in."

What is up with the gibberish in the listing?

Or lazy/forgetful.

I hope so. We're stopping in there today. When we get back this evening I'll get back here with more info.

This is true... Although I don't feel good with it sitting out with the others there.. When we were in there last, saw 2 squiers come crashing down as people try to take them down.

I would not want a guitar I put money down on to be out and about either...if I put money on it that was because I wanted it set aside for me and with my money down I have taken part ownership of it based on an agreed-upon contract (i.e. your paperwork) that spells out the time frame to fully pay it off when it ownership fully transfers.

And that's interesting about the gibberish...

If it is laying out, then they either don't care about your contract and they took your money and ran with it, or they're just stupid and forgot all about your contract.

That is very true...and if any of that was the case then I would definitely mention it on Yelp or something like that and would either pay off my guitar ASAP or if the guitar was in worse condition than it was when I put money down would either demand my money back (they broke the contract) or demand a reduction in price.

Re: Well.. This is strange...

Another thought, they knew you saw it on C'list, & reposted it, trying to get you to hurry up & pay for it, to get it out of inventory.
The pawn shops I've dealt with won't even do a layaway plan. Most of the time, they won't even buy guitars (unless you take a ridiculous offer) cause they have soo many in stock, & don't have room for more.

Yeah, I'll have to mention that. I have a feeling it's either gonna stay there or come home in a lot less time than I was planning for..

I hope they're just stupid. I really don't feel like making this a huge deal.

I'll mention it somewhere. I would probably demand a price reduction or pay it off. Like I said, I don't want to make this a huge deal. But don't get me wrong, I will if needed.

Alright, we're off!

LOLOLOL.....Is it possibly a decepticon.png? jh ieo iaoednvevu unha[sdiuiawpvij9

Re: Well.. This is strange...

The gibberish could be spacing text because they can't insert a line break, or 2.

Re: Well.. This is strange...

Alright, it was a "mistake".

The photo was from 2 weeks ago and they reposted it. We got there and it's still sitting in the back waiting for us. We asked about the post, they said it was a mistake bla bla bla and said they took down the listing. Now, they didn't, but my guitar is safe. ;)

Layby is for the poor like me. never done it but still...

If I didn't want so much stuff, I'd have the money. :(

Between my 10/22 I just payed off, my DX6 transmitter that I have to get for my soon to be Sport Cub S, my Lipo charger, Lipos, Syma X5c Quadcopter and more. :)

Well.. I started out with my .22, but then I saw some videos of quadcopters and needed one( ;) ) I decided on a cheap one, but then decided if I'm getting a charger, why not go all out? Then my father was interested in RC airplanes, meaning I got pulled in also. :)

EDIT: Woops. Going off topic. :p

Re: Well.. This is strange...

My local shop is very generous. My dad bought his strat on time and even took it home just on a small down payment. Same with the POD x3 live he bought from them. We've been buying from them practically since they opened so maybe it was just because they trusted him enough to take it home on just the payment... Anyway I'm glad they weren't trying to sell it out from under you! I've had that happen a few times. It's not enjoyable...
