I don't necessarily hate Gibson, they charge what the market will bare apparently.
'Bare'? I assumed they keep their clothes on when they're pricing models. On the other hand, like many manufacturers, Gibson charges what the market will bear. And let me say, Gibson's corporate offices no doubt let out an audible collective sigh of relief when they heard that you 'Don't necessarily hate them.' That's got to be a weight off their shoulders.
I mostly hate the people who are willing to pay those prices, allowing the prices to be what they are.
It looks like they for about $1700? The semi comparable Sterling goes for $700. If comparing Gibson to the Epiphone like, say a Sheriton to a ES-355, that's going from $500 - $600 to $3,500-$4,000. Is it's Gibson's fault that this is possible? No. Is it someone's fault? Yes. I don't have their name and number, but they're out there somewhere.

Why do you care what other people do with their money?
Because it dictates fmv

Welcome to economics 101, supply and demand. .
Sure i cant say i like the process but it sure wouldnt cause me to hate someone over it.
I can appreciate the fact that things cost more when there's intrinsic value to be had, it's how most things end up priced the way they are, like a house with a view, or a car with amenities, but Gibson can demand high prices mostly due to extrinsic qualities, which is to say, their snob appeal. Other guitar brands are able to charge a bit more for their brand appeal, but Gibson is able to take it to a further extreme because so many guitar buyers see them as the Rolex of the guitar world. I'm willing to buy premium guitars, but not Gibsons, they're able to charge way too much for the name alone.
Still , I wouldnt hate anyone just cause they have more money to spend than me.
Busine.. blah blah woof woof

While this is a fascinating insight into your psyche and explains just oh so much about you and how you behave on this forum you are trying to shift the argument. We arent talking about "people" we are talking about you dont try to deflect it. (even though the deflection itself is an interesting insight)
What it boils down to you hate a company and their customers because you are jealous that they have more money than you. This is the crux of what you are saying.
We may disagree a lot, but at this moment I truly hope for you own sake that one day you can see the silliness of hating like that. As Maya Angelou has said “Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in the world, but has not solved one yet.”
