What amp do you use for gigs?

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

For a small club Blues gig without the Keyboardist I'll Bring my Princeton Reverb. Outdoors or w/t Keys I'll bring my Hot Rod Deluxe. I've got a 1x12" ext. cab w/t a V30 That I plan to use next gig w/t The HRD a 4 ohms.:smokin:

Roland Cube 60 with my Ibanez.

My only giggable amp with my only giggable guitar. :blackeye:

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

Small gigs, open mics and cover stuff - Crate V32 and a TS9

Big rooms and original sets - Triaxis and 2:90 rack

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

depends- on club dates when we have some extra setup time, a Roland GT-Pro into powered JBL full range EON cabs
for festivals with many bands, I play without the guitar synth/midi rig and use a Mesa Blue Angel.

I have been using a Fender Blackface Super Reverb

Depends on the gig.

Take a look at that super reverb in my signature. (Too heavy)

Lately, it's been LP007 (Celtic Edana) and Little Jimi (Holland amps)

Or a AB165 blackface Bassman playing through a Vibratone with a Mesa Boogie DC-10 for leads.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

One of my five Mesa amps:

Small gigs, a DC-3 combo; or a Mesa Maverick 212 combo. I have a 112 Theile cab to use with the DC-3, and I have a Recto 212 cab to turn the Maverick into a half-stack.

For the Medium gigs, mostly a Mesa Mark IV 112 EVM combo, or a Mark III Simul-Class 112 EVM combo. Both of these have a matching 112 EVM Theile cab.

For Big gigs, where I need to level entire city blocks, I have a Mesa Mark III Coliseum head with a 412 Mesa Half-back cab with C90s/EVMs. This is a glorius sounding amp and its probably my favorite. Unfortunately, my band doesn't do a lot of gigs where I can use this.

Most of the time, I like the versatility of the Mark IV, but they have about 2,000 knobs and switches. The Mark IIIs are easier to get a good tone from, and less fussy; though once the Mark IV is set right, it is also a gem.

I have a lot of versatility with these amps, and the Mesas are perfect for the many different styles I cover in my band.

Triamp mk2 as well. I use it with a bogner cab loaded with v30s both for smaller and bigger gigs.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

SF Super Reverb
SF Deluxe Reverb
MArshall 900 50W combo 2 12"
Bogner Shiva

I use the Deluxe mostly, but it is difficult to keep a good clean tone once the volume gets up. My intention is to use the Bogner, but I'm still learning the amp. For larger arrangements I prefer to use the SR a/b'd with the Marshall. THis will all change once I get the Bogner down.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

Since I've had the money to get an amp I actually want, I've used this....

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

I mainly use my single channel Orange AD30 head and either a Marshall 2x12 or an Orange 4x12 (depending on venue size and which I can be bothered to transport :D)

I'm considering selling my Marshall combo to get 1 of the new Vox AC30CCs though, but I'll see how I go with that :)
