What amp do you use for gigs?

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

Over the last 10 years it has been a Hiwatt DR 504. However I do have one gig each in recent years with a '68 Bassman, and a JCM 900.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

A cranked Marshall DSL401 (on the clean channel)

It's really hard on tubes though, since I practise with it cranked too :smokin: those tubes rattle like a snake

No pain, no Gain:smokin:

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

I rotate heads, I can never pick a favorite. Last gig was with a 68 Traynor Bassmaster.

Crate V30 head with Mesa/Boogie 2X12" cabinet.

I plan on buying a SFX3 tube distortion to use as my main distortion.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

I gig with my Tremoverb combo and a Diezel 2X12 cab, both loaded with V30's.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

Depends on my moods, but I like to rotate all of my guitars and amps...I'll only bring out one amp to play through and one as a spare.

66 Pro Reverb
50 watt 73 Marshall
Fender Cyber Twin
Valvetronix 120 VTH Head....

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

I try and use my 5150 head with a small 1x12 cab for important gigs but most of the time i use a C30 combo with a few pedals...

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

For 4 years it was a Fender Hot rod Deluxe with a Tube Screamer or SD1

Then it was a Blues Jr Relic with a Fulldrive 2 and Univibe

Now I have too much junk and I can't decide.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

I have been trying to get a small compact but amazing sounding rig together.... I found that my Godin guitar sounds like 3 different guitars and with the C30 combo i use the Godins Piezo system thru it and it sounds pretty good.. Enough so i never use a real acoustic live anymore... Then my Pedalboard and the Godins Humbuckers/single coil make up a great classic rock sound...

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

Usually the Chubster 40 since it's portable and fits the music for the original band. I've just joined a cover band so the Knucklehead is going to get pulled out for that.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

I use a Fender hot rod 2x12 deville and a basic American made strat. I keep it low enough for good stage volume but it cranks through the P.A.

Re: What amp do you use for gigs?

depending on the venue and the style; tweed Pro, tweed Twin, Pro Reverb, or a 3x10" Bandmaster...
