Funny you should say that. One of the oddball quirks that I've discovered on my J-Station is - I tend not to use it to have a plethora of tones at my fingertips - but to find that one tone that suits me best.
Its on the Black Face (65 Fender Twin reverb) setting 99.9% of the time.
I guess I got it right the first time. :laugh2:

It's funny beacuse I use a 1969 Twin Reverb, and I play a Tele and a Strat quite a bit of the time, but I do not play country at all...I love my Twin...it is beat to hell, and I dropped it down a flight of stairs last month making it look even worse...but this amp sounds amazing!

I'm not really a country player myself, but my wife loves country, and she's been such a good sport about my guitar GAS, that I'd like to learn few songs for her.
Also, and interesting, is the fact that my Genny does such a great smooth Tele-twang, with the C5 in the bridge, that it actually inspires one to play some country licks.

Thanks for all the replies. I probably should have been a little more clear about my question though. I was asking more about which preset on my "J" would be traditional "country", than which amp to buy. Thats still a ways off in the future.
The J has Fender Black Face, '57 Tweed Deluxe, '72 Bandmaster, '65 Bassman, and '83 Concert Head, as far as Fender models go.
The Tweed Deluxe gets a pretty nice country twang also, if I roll the gain back a bit.

OT, but I think the reason people ask more about metal and whatnot is because, IMHO, there is a greater variety of heavier sounds.
Also, I know what you mean about only using one sound on the modelers. my 5 channels are set up for clean, distortion, distortion with reverb, distortion with phaser, and distortion with delay. Same amp model for everything but the cleans, and even then I sometimes just use the 'preamp bypass.'

There is no best amp for Country. You just need something clean and tight-sounding. I have been playing Country for a lot of years and you really don't need a particular amp. I have seen players with little solid state Peaveys and their tone was great. In Country guitar, whether you're playing Albert Lee, Jerry Reed, Bakersfield style, Shania Twain, Brad Paisley, or Keith Urban stuff, it's mostly in your fingers and particularly you right-hand technique...
