What Are You Looking Foward To Seeing For 2016 From NAMM?

Re: What Are You Looking Foward To Seeing For 2016 From NAMM?

A friend of mine runs the QC shop for Hanser Music Group (owners / distributors of BC Rich, Kustom Amps and Michael Kelly) in Hebron, KY. I was asking him the other day and he was pretty tight lipped about anything new and just told me to watch their websites and social media.

Nothing. This is the week we locals scour the LA/Orange County Craigslist for the avalanche of listings by people trying to raise money for new NAMM toys.

All the great gear people went crazy for at prior NAMM Shows will now be half off!!

You lucky dog.

Looks like a mini jubilee head and a combo, and apparently that is not the BIG announcement...

I can't wait to see what mini pedals are coming out this year. After the mini fuzz face a few years ago and the mini Tube Screamer and mini Crybaby last year, I'm hoping for a mini Big Muff, or a mini DS-1 this year. ;)

This might sound weird, but I'm excited for all the 'mega' pedals this year. Like pedals that are 1.5 times the size or so, two footswitches, two effects or an overdrive with two gain stages etc. I know EQD is coming out with a couple of them:

And Keeley is releasing some three-pedal-in-one 'workstations'

I find micro pedals didn't really save me pedalboard room at all, if anything, once you got the cables on your board they're still about 75% the size as a full pedal. I think a big pedal with multiple purposes and top mounted jacks could actually save me a lot of board space.

What have you heard?

They've posted pics on their site. Made some additions to their Standard Series: D-18, D-28 and D-35 models with cutaways and Fishman AURA preamps, and some Limited Edition beauty.

I'm looking forward to laying hands on a Strandberg at the show. The only one currently in CO is an 8-string and I'm strictly a 6-string kinda guy.

Say Hi to Ola for me!!

Marshall has been blowing up social media with cryptic "game changer" type marketing. I am curious to see if its a lifestyle product or something actually worthwhile for guitar players...

Doesn't look like there are any new striped series. Im kinda bummed they are expanding the special line so much and totally neglecting the USA line up

Re: What Are You Looking Foward To Seeing For 2016 From NAMM?

What B.C. Rich's lineup (which I've already seen from Facebook) will be fully realized. But, they're now owned by a new group (forget the name). I wanna see how they'll roll in 2016 and beyond. :)

I checked out their website this morning and it doesn't look very good, IMO. They've pretty much narrowed it down to the Mockingbird and the Warlock shapes and all the different tiers of models have similar specs. The Kerry King Series is no longer to his specs, with none of the models having EMG's or Kahlers and instead featuring the BC Rich BDSM pickups and Floyd Roses. I'm not saying that I was a fan before, but you always seemed to get a decent guitar for a good price, but now all the specs appear to be really bottom shelf stuff.

Re: What Are You Looking Foward To Seeing For 2016 From NAMM?

LOL!! John, I love that you are a die hard Charvel guy now! When I joined this forum and years after, you were a pretty serious LP guy!!

I know no one seems to care much, but they are VERY good guitars at a very fair price... Michael Kelly has some new guits coming out. Nothing groundbreaking as far as designs, but very high end pickups.

From the link Jolly posted, looks like Charvel has raised prices. But, they have also added the board end truss adjust, which is cool. I DEFINATELY love this one:

Very close to the guitar Id have made if I could afford to have them build me a custom one. about the only differences would be that Id have a Quarter pounder single in the neck instead of a bucker, would have and OFR, better keys and the input jack would be the inverted end of body one like on my Red charvel..

Love all the neons coming back!! bring one the aqua net!!!
