What can you tell me about the Fryette/VHT Pittbull 100cl?

Re: What can you tell me about the Fryette/VHT Pittbull 100cl?

Also a reason why many people feel the amp is "dry" is because the gain isn't as saturated as other amps like a 5150,Uberschall,Dual Rec etc you always maintain string clarity at high gain levels with very little to no compression. Also it's a very clean and clear amp very "honest" sounding so that also turns people off when playing it because if your technique is lacking it will show.

It's somewhat the same thing that people say about BareKnuckle pups in that they feel they aren't "hot" enough but what they are really looking for is that saturation and compression and the clarity to them means it's not "hot" enough.

Sounds like you just described a modern era hi-gain HiWatt inspired amp.

Actually thats how some people view and describe Fryette amps in that they are similar to HiWatts.

Absolutely! I still own my Pittbull UL.....killer amp. I like the bareknuckle comparison. If you play sloppy on a Fryette/VHT....there is no where to hide. The tradeoff is tightness, clarity and dynamics few other high gain amps can deliver.

The only other amp that I know of that compares in tightness and brutality is the Splawn Nitro w(KT88s). The Splawn has more saturation but I don't think they have the same amount of clarity as a Fryette.

Fryette's are really starting to interest me. I especially really like the Sig:X. I'll have to look into a Pitbull too. There seems to be a lot of good word about those amps.

The Nitro and also the Diezel Vh4: comparable tightness but FAR more compressed. The Diezel is also much pricier than either the Splawn or the Fryette. Either way, my old Ultra lead is a keeper. With all the crazy 7 and 8 string prog metal out there now and the demand for uber tightness, I am surprised you don't see more players using them.

That's it exactly! These amps are the most unforgiving tattle tales you will ever face. You'll play better because of it.
