What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Roland Micro Cube.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

I like to use my Boogie on 60W setting with the master volume ... but I mic either the 1x12 or 2x10 it through my Fender Acoustasonic to add a little reverb and get a PA type sound.

I use the same amp playing live. All the tone settings are the same (at home or on stage). I just change the master volume. Sounds crazy but it works.

That's a great setup you got there doveman. I'd try to make something organized like that.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Thanks ... the family likes me to have my own room for recording and practicing ... I must admit it's nice to have a place to go ... here's the other half ...

It will probably be my new Fender Minitwin now, but I also have up there the Vox AD60VTX and nmv Bassman 2X12.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Valvetronix AD60VTH head on the Bogner large 2-12 when I'm playing anything with any sort of gain.

Anytime I play clean, I usually move over to the Matchless Chieftain and sometimes the Gibson Goldtone 30.

I NEVER play guitar in the bedroom.......what is wrong with you guys. :naughty:

Cool!

After a proper rig I'm thinking about a PC with Nuendo or Reaper, a MOTU Ultralite Audio Interface and a pair of studio monitors. Ohh so much $f$u$c$k$i$n$g$$m$o$n$e$y$........But let's dream........

I use a H&K Edition Tube 20, Marshall MG30, POD, or Korg Pandora. Each does a specific sound pretty well.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Unplugged electric is often my choice as well.

Sometimes when I'm surfing the net or watching tv I'll have my guitar in my lap and just noodle around.

actually can be a bit of good practice as well as you've got to be really clean and articulate in your playing to hear the notes and get any sustain.

When I've got loads of gain and a compressor I can get a little sloppy, but when the sound is 100% from my hands, thats a different story.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Either accoustic guitar or Line 6 Toneport UX-1 with monitors or headphones

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

I only have one amp, TW express (clone) through a 4x12. It's so tempting to crank it up and get it to crunch up nicely, but I resist and play clean most of the time. I need to get a lava box for the bedroom gain needs! (or a new little amp)

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

dont you use your od channel?

Yep quite a lot, it's a gorgeous tone. I boost it with the Bad Monkey 99% of the time.

I forgot I also had my big Muff. Muff with max gain and adjusted just above unity gain on the volume played through the amp's gain channel is instant Santana style infinite sustain, and dead quiet. The OD channel takes well to other pedals too.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

couldnt a hot plate or webber mass make any amp crank decently at bedroom level? i've never used one so i dont really know

Not all of us are cool enough to have models for girlfriends/wives. Some of us don't even have girlfriends at all. :oo I'm working to correct that though...

Since I don't have a girlfriend, I don't play guitar in the bedroom. I play it in the living room at all times. I do mean ALL times including when I wake up at 2:00 in the morning. I crank up the Edana or Blackfaced Bassman or Vox AD120VTH or Vox AD30XL and play as loud as I want. Man it's great to have a neighbor with hearing problems.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

I know some of you will take this the wrong way, but it actually depends on whether my wife is home. She gets a little frazzled if I get too loud. I usually use the Vox Brian May Deacy-type practice amp. (white with reddish-brown cloth grille). Makes a great pre-amp too.

Re: What do you guys use for bedroom playing?

Well I use my valvetronix. What do you use, share!

i plan to get a Vox modeler oneday.... i like them for the modern stack sounds...

but i use some mid 90's SS Fenders around the house a lot... an Ultimate Chorus and a Princton Chorus.... at a wisper they are pretty rockin... not much usefull for band work at all... but they can sound fantastic when people in the house are sleeping and you need a higher gain sound at ultra low volume.... a little fuzzy but i like that and the true stereo chorus is great.. i picked mine up cheap used...

from time to time i will use a Fender Stage 100DSP head thru a Marshall 1x12 cab... it's not my favourite amp but for the $200 i paid for the thing brand new from a store wanting rid of it i use it once in a blue moon...

i also have a few small SS amps by Marshall, Roland, Berhinger, Yamaha, as well as a POD 2.0 set up with a Berhinger mixer so i can mix cd's and the pod thru headphones...

Tube side i use a Peavey Classic 30 and an original 65 Fender Deluxe... these i use at home with a few pedals.... sometimes i'll use an old 1989 Roland rack Multi FX unit called the GP8 thru the C30... that can be very cool!!!!

when no one is home i will use my 5150 stack once in a while... but it does not see much use since i do not have a band anymore...
