What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

Epiphone Thunderhorse Explorer with an SD Distortion and a 59.
Mesa Triple Rectifier.

I'd love either of these but the one on top would be first choice!

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

Hmm.

A new amp (not sure what yet, but it's gotta be high gain and have a decent clean)
A long scale guitar (so 26.5" or 27" scale)- also not sure
As well as the things needed for home recording. (A nice computer, an interface, and a mic)- I don't have enough room for this anyway.
A boutique chorus pedal
A nice delay pedal
A higher quality boost pedal

That's probably it. Most of it is way out my reach though.

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

I've become bored with rear-routed V's; I like the look of the plate on these.

When you talk about the control layout, do you mean the function of the controls, or the arrangement on the guitar's surface?

Their arrangement. With the way they come, I'd be constantly bashing my hand into that top volume control

I'd love either of these but the one on top would be first choice!

That copper III looks tasty.

You should check out Doug Kauer's 'birds: http://kauerguitars.com/instruments/banshee. He builds them every so often so as to fly under the radar of big G's wrath.

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

A pair of celestion G10 Alnico Golds, and a Dora The Explorer Explorer when it's released.

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

With my two recent flea-market scores, and my new Squier Jag, I think I'm finally good to go on guitars. However, I'd love one of these:

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

I have no serious G.A.S. right now but there are always a few things in my sights.

1. Heil PR35
2. Solid Body Hardtail w/ Gretsch style pups
3. Jazzmaster

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

No really serious GAS at the minute, as I'm pretty happy with what I've got. I'd quite like to try out a couple of different pickups in my Ibanez ORL-1 though, and I have plans for a DC Tele build that I'd like to get off the ground soon-ish.

If money were no issue, I'd be spending it on an Orange TH30 and a bunch of different pedals...mostly modulations, a tasty reverb and a nice fuzz.

Yeah, I like the I better, mostly due to the single pickup but the III is just as choice at the end of the day!

I like Doug's builds but being made from different woods and no being neck through they are just different from a real Bird. That said if I ever found one of his with a single Firebird pickup I'd be all over it.

I've been looking at Jazzmasters and Jags too. I sold my Jazzmaster a few years ago to buy a Melody Maker and I love the MM but I do sort of wish I'd kept the JM but the next one I get will be ever better!

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

more orange cabs and neodymium speakers, gonna get em in 5 months when I save up

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

I always GAS for a good telecaster, but I just can't gel with them to save my life.

I'm really interested in reading an evaluatioon of the Golds. I'm thinking my Greenback 10s are it for what I play, but I'm still curious.

The non reverse Firebirds were set neck weren't they?

Re: What do you have G.A.S. for right now?

Yes, they are solid mahogany bodies and necks, set necks just like an SG or LP Jr...reverse birds are neck through and they have an attack and sustain that is unlike anything else Gibson has ever built.

Neither is bad or good or better or worse they are just different.

Heck...I'd like to have a nice non reverse Bird too...with a pair of P-90's please!
