What do you know about this guitar?

Just curious if anyone had stock specs on this guitar. Also how often have you seen this graphic?

Oops that link won't work. Sorry I'm new.

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

Bad link, but it's a polka dot Dean ML. Ugly as sin. Probably sounds fine, tho.

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

Yeha Trevorus that was a pretty lazy answer seeing as how Washburn is clearly written on the headstock.

We would need more specs to figure out the model. What does that bridge say? s/n? pickups? bolt on?

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

Dean created the ML. Dimebag Darrell owned one. Dimebag struck a signature model deal with Washburn. Later, he struck a new signature model deal with the Dean company.

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

Still waiting for it to arrive. Bought from a best friend, he still plays but 7 string, it was his second guitar. Thought I was going to have to pry it out of his fingers. He needed some cash because I'd assume, even at 40 hrs a week, it's hard keeping gear and equipment serviced plus traveling. Anyways that's beside the point. It's a Floyd Rose trem bridge with locking nut. Just from the few pics I've seen, I'll have to look for them, I think they're SD pickups. They don't look like Wash's. I can only guess these are the additions to it being a FM. I know it's stock, as far as he purchased it new and hasn't changed anything, I was just curious if anyone had any direct experience with these guitars. As far as the polka dots go I've only seen one other and it was only in a picture.

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

Correct. He initially had a deal with Dean but then switched to Washburn. Washburn then leased the rights for this ML, or more commonly known as "Dime", cut from I think, without looking, either 95-96 until he resigned with Dean in 2004, shortly before he was murdered. This guitar was produced after that since Washburn still had a license to make these cuts. Now, with Vinnie and Rita in charge of his estate, the rights have all been given exclusively to Dean again. But that still doesn't answer a lot about this guitar. It'd be great if someone knew the exact stock FM specs because I have exhausted every lead I've found in my search. This is my Hail Mary if you will. Thanks again for looking and posting guys. \m/

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

It's a polkadot Washburn 333 Dimebolt.
Circa late 90s early 2000s. They were made in Korea and on the lower end of the totem pole.
They didn't have very good workmanship to them and the fit and finish wasn't the best. They were around $600 new if my old brain remembers correctly. They got better when Eric McKenna from Boogie Street in Pittsburgh started selling them. The workmanship got fantastic and they were in the 1k range then, I bought a couple of guitars off of him back in the mid 2000s before him and Washburn tanked.
I even got setups from Zakk Wyldes tech back then. That was part of his deal..
Hopefully you didn't pay a fortune for this, the early models weren't near as nice as the later ones before Dime went to Dean, even when he went to Dean Washburn was still making the 333s and they were pretty sweet especially their custom shop ones.
This dude named Chewy painted and he was a genius and an artist to the highest level.
And that's about all I know about these.. I'd value it about $250.. Be prepared to put a little work into it..

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

I've read mixed reviews about craftsmanship on the 333's. However, most places I've read that the Chinese made 333's have a letter preceding their serial number. This one does not. It begins with 07. Secondly, it is a custom shop guitar. The Funky Munky shop in Shawnee,Kansas. Unfortunately, I was able to get ahold of them only to discover ownership had changed and that there was no archived information about any guitars sold out of that shop prior to 2012. I do know that it was purchased directly from that shop online. I'm sorry I'm really trying to give all the info I know.

They did however tell me that this was the graphic that year. I didn't even have to tell them which one I had. And he said only 48 were produced. Makes me wonder if this wasn't the beginning of then "short runs" that ppl are after. Much like the boogie which dropped the same year if I'm not mistaken. The rebel 333 was another "short run" Funky Munky guitar.

Re: What do you know about this guitar?

It is a replica of the Randy Rhoads tribute he played on a tour with Ozzy comemerating Randy.

Certainly no contradictions in that post.

If it came from Funky Munky it's probably a China or Korea guitar. Them and Boogie Street were the number one purveyors of Washburn metal guitars in the first decade of the 2000's.
They held all the clinics and all the Metalheads bought their Evil Twins and 333s from them 2 shops. I never dealt with them, I liked Eric and Pittsburgh is only a few hours north of me so I got things fast..
If it was a custom shop it would have Chewys signature or whomever painted it on the headstock and say it was made in Chicago..
I had a foreign Evil Twin and it was as nice as my Les Pauls. Fantastic craftsmanship and QC on it..
