I'm awaiting for the arrival of my epiphone custom ( http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-EPI-LPCFG-HS.html ) And I wanna Know about the pick up of this guitar... How you compare it? I'm thinking in change to JB and '59, But I want o know your opinion in compare of the stock Pick up...

How you compare the stock one in this EPI with the JB & JAZZ or '59?
(Before I make an order) or the stock one are a good ones?

The stock pickups in the Epi Les Pauls are very muddy and lack so much tone. Bridge pickups I like in Epi Les Pauls are (in order): Custom, Custom/PG hybrid, Pearly Gates, Screamin Demon, and then JB. As for neck pickups my favorite is the Pearly Gates, then the '59.

for my epi les paul i like to use Dimarzio's V-Paf set. the JB/Jazz works nicely too.

If it's the pup in my Epi it's about 13k output, somewhat grainy with decent definition. I like it so far but we'll see how it fairs at rehearsal where it really matters.

I would replace the stock pickups w/o a doubt. They're ok clean, but they suck if distortion is what you want. Figure out what styles you play the most. I play Jazz, Classic Rock, Fusion, and Hot Latin styles ala Santana. So for me the Jazz Neck and JB bridge is a cool setup. The 59/JB is my second choice for what I do.

But let's say you wanted to do a raw, gritty, down dirty, "Born Under a Bad Sign" blues. Then I think a C5 would suite you better. But if you wanted a smooth, quasi distorted, woman sounding, buttery, bluesy tone like a Larry Carlton then CC would be better for that.

You see its a matter of which styles you plan to play.
