What ever happened to the Crowther Hotcake?

Used to be very popular like 10-15 years ago. You never hear anyone using them anymore. Anyone here have one?

I don't think they've gone anywhere, but overdrives seem to go in cycles as far as popularity.

Used to have one. Today alot of overdrive makers have caught on to the transparency thing and do it in various flavours. So the hotcake doesn't have its hold on that market anymore.

I have one and it's still in my arsenal. There's quite a lot of other pedals out there as Jony says, but the maker hit the nail on the head originally. Sounds awesome on an AC30.

I've looked for them, but everyone seems to be out of them. Not sure as to why.

The Hotcake has been around since the 70's...and it's still around maybe just a little hard to find from time to time...
