What Floyd axe to keep?

BloodRose

Professional Scapegoat
Well, as most of you that have been around awhile know my saga. You also know I have to clean house on axes.. I had already sold everything that I really really like, so, now letting go is hard.

Ive already decided Ill sell the:
RG570 (sentimental value and great player)
Washburn HM24 (amazing guitar)
BC Rich Gunslinger (super fast neck and fun to play)
Charvel 4 ( awesome guitar and wanted one for so many years)
Will sell one of my Washburn MG130s (USA built, short scale, set neck, Steve Salas model)

I Want to keep one Floyd axe. So, I have to decide tween my Washburn WM526, Washburn MG104 or Kramer Pacer Imperial.

MG104 -Grover Jackson designed, USA built, great features, tone, playability
WM526-one of a kind, custom shop build. (this is the best guitar of the group, but the least natural feeling to me.)
Kramer Pacer - Kramer from the golden era. Best feeling Kramer neck I ever played.
I love them all and could be blissfully happy with all. ( although the jury is still not 100% decided on the EMGs on the 526) 18v mod is helping. But pups can be changed and I can get used to the slightly wider neck.
Choice is killing me..

Are they all dual humbucker? If so, to me it would be down to the MG104 and the Pacer, since the 526 doesn't feel natural. You should get some good cash out of that, being a custom shop model and all.

My personal choice, sight unseen and unplayed, would be the Kramer. I would think that the Kramer would have better resale value and potential increase in value vs a Washburn.

With that said, if you still have either the Charvel 4 or the Gunslinger when I get a job and back on my feet, I will be buying one of those from you. I have wanted a Charvel as long as I can remember. I just don't have the scratch now.

Re: What Floyd axe to keep?

Leave it up to fate. Put them all up for sell. The last one that hasn't sold gets to stay.

Re: What Floyd axe to keep?

None of them jump out at me. I'd ditch them all.

No,

Wm526 is EMG 85/81
Kramer is Jazz/JB
MG104 is 594/sl1/C8

Re: What Floyd axe to keep?

Bro, I don't want to dig into your personal life or come off as being a jerk. Unless you're having financial troubles, don't sell your gear. You'll just end up regretting it in the end. I know I did. I had some dam nice guitars and sold them all off to make someone else happy. Now here I am almost 3 years later and I'm starting from scratch and hating it.

If you're doing this to please someone else, then make dam sure it's going to change things. If not, you're just going through this for nothing and you're still going to lose out in the end. You seem like a good dude. I'd hate for anyone to make the same mistake I did. If it's for the better and what you want to do, then do it. If not, some people just can't be pleased and are going to make you miserable no matter what you do.

I really hope things turn around for you man. I sincerely do.

Re: What Floyd axe to keep?

1) Put them all in their cases.

2) Try and see how long you can go without opening any of the cases / picking any of them up.

3) The first one you open and pick up is the winner

2nds Charvel, you likely won't find another later in life, or if you can you won't be able to afford it.

Of the 3 you listed I'd say the Kramer.
