Is that Alvin Lee's 335 or a reissue? I know he's using Heritage nowadays.

Curly,

Thanks for the link to Alvin's reissue. Pretty cool guitar.

I just lost alot of respect for Mike Soldano, good lord thats lame.

I was lucky enough to get escorted through the Gibson room and I saw a 5-string Gibson bass with a pair of active Basslines Phase I soapbars and a Basslines STC-3a 3-band tone circuit. It was an exotic wood neck-through, much like a Pedulla or a Warwick or a Ken Smith.

haven't seen him with a green one myself

it's pretty amazing - I read through his site not long ago, and he still plays "Big Red" - the one he played at Woodstock - but doesn't tour with it due to its value - he said he's been offered crazy money for that ax!

I saw Alvin in a small club about 10 years ago. He was using a red Heritage at the time. Despite his fame, I read that he grew weary of the "big stage" with TYA, and preferred just playing the blues in small clubs.

When I saw him a few years back, he was using the Heritage. He was brilliant. A very fluid player...even did some cool Travis picking while tuning up between songs. I actually think he plays better now than back in the day.

A Floyd on a Paul? It's not my thing but hey if people want it them, fine. I'm not much of a whammy bar guy anyway. I've seen pics on the net of this Schon Custom and there's the added feature of a heel-less neck. I don't know if it's a true neck-thru or not, but it looks pretty fun to play.

The amp looks badass to me. I love the Goldtone series but read on harmony-central that there were dependability issues, so I spent on something else. I asked an amp-tech about the Goltones and he reported that they were not very well made. Too bad as they sound wonderful. Anyway teaming up with Soldano seems like a sroke of genius. I better start digging through the car seat for the extra change and donating my plasma for dinero, methinks that amp will be expensive.

Frankly I don't mind that Gibson is trying new things. It gets a little old to see people bashing Gibson all over the internet. They came up with the Les Paul, SG, Flying V, Firebird, and my favorite, the Explorer. They would have to do something pretty terrible (nuclear, biological, or chemical) for me to lose respect for them.

Am I the only one that's noticed that the controls on the amp look JUST LIKE those of an SLO100?

They could've done ANY other color... blue, silver, white, but GOLD gawdDAMN thats gross.

I've seen pics of Schon with those LPs, and from what I've seen the heel is rounded off in the back too.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if I can swing that amp I beholdin' it shortly!!!

The Vice Pres of Seymour Duncan is "lucky enough to get escorted" through the Gibby room? They should be honored to have you. Ain't that a kick in the pants. I wish someone had arms long enough to knock Gibson off of their high horse.
