What guitar are you playing today?

Been a minute since I busted this one out, but I was quickly reminded how unapologetically badass it is...my USA Washburn "Outlaw" George Lynch signature prototype with a one-off Super V proto humbucker!

2013 Fender ‘52 AV Tele. I had the day off so I broke out the Tele and played around with the Tonex

Was that the last year they made them or is that a slightly different model from the AVRI?

I have a 2012 and thought they stopped making them later that same year.

Mine is different than a AVRI. They changed the model up sometime in 2012 and went from AVRI to AV or pure vintage.

Sure, let´s confuse people changing the name slightly, but leave it almost the same lol.

Any idea what exactly they changed with the specs...if anything?

it is confusing. All i’m aware of is they chaged the way they finish the guitars. I believe the Pre 2013 had the orange vintage tint necks and a thicker body finish. Mine came with the extra resistor in the case so it could be changed to the vintage wiring on the selector switch.

I've no idea of the finishes beyond being nitro...though what you said makes sense. The AVRIs had the capacitor on the neck pickup to make it more or less unusable in the neck only position by default, but with the wiring diagram and cap to rewire it normally.
