Re: What guitar for a Screamin Demon?
Don't want to resurrect an old thread (yes I want

) but I "pre" installed my stk-s7 and my screamin demon in my strat. I said pre-installed is I only wired it with one volume knob and no tone knobs as I want to hear what they sound together in my strat before commiting to anything.
They are beasts!!!!
1- The Sceamin Demon is not as bright as some says, I have a 250k pot and it's perfect, just cutting thru but not bright at all
2- STK-S7 is very hot, I have to lower it a lot to match the Demon volume. I was surprised…
They are working together very well output wise and sound wise. Strange thing is by lowering the STK-S7 to match the Demon volume, I now have a less distortion sound on the STK-S7 than on the Demon but with the same volume output: to me it's perfect as I can go from crunchy tone on the neck to just a tad more character on the bridge with just a flick of the switch.
The big surprise is really the STK-S7, it's really have more output that expected and is way more than an overwound single coil. For my usage it's working very well with the Demon. First time I can play with gain on the neck with no mud. Not true single coil sound but not humbucker sound either. I like it for a superstrat.
The Demon cleans up nicely and is very versatile. I can hear it screams at full volume but I can hear it sings blues and light rock at 4-6.
I only wired one volume knob and I see no interest in tone knobs anymore. I now need to find what to do with the remaining 2 holes in the pickgard
