What Guitars Did You Buy...

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

I didn't buy any this year. I sold four that I never play, mostly for financial reasons. The cool part is that I still have a bunch of great guitars and I still enjoy playing. I feel very fortunate to have that.

Sprinter - If you ever want to part with that G&L, I call dibs. Financially, I'm in no hurry, but I want it down the road, if you decide to sell.

I like that Asat a lot and I doubt it will be for sale. It will soon be getting a 4 way switch. I'm considering sending it to McVay Benders and having a B Bender or maybe even B&G bending system installed in it. Here's another picture of it:

I haven't bought any guitars this year sadly, the two I have will have to make do for the next few years until I'm done school anyways.

Zerb, if the eko is ever up for sale, shoot me a pm ;)

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

I bought a B stock Alverez 12 string I think in January or February. I am ready to pull the trigger on a Gold Tone resonator, but due to a bad eBay deal it looks like I will have to pass on it for a few months.

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

I bought me a Carvin ST300. It's a little on the heavy side due to it being all maple but I love it anyways, lol.

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

No new guitars for me this year. I'll be graduating next year so there will be so many nice new guitars next year I'll be starting this very same thread myself and bragging *fingers crossed, knocked on wood, hopping on one leg*. Even if it means delaying moving out by a month or two.

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

The time I bought a guitar was a year ago this month. I did a pretty good job reining in my GAS this year.

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

My Parker Nitefly. Playability wise, it's everything I could ever want in a guitar. I've played $500 and $5000 guitars, and I've never found one that plays as easily as this baby. Put some kickass pups in there too.

My Highway One strat. Since this photo was taken, I put locking tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and a much better bridge on it.

It will soon be getting new pups (Alnico II Pro neck, SSL-5 mid, JB Jr bridge), upgraded electronics, a blender pot for the bridge pup, and one of these.

All in all, I think I did well this year, considering I don't have much of a real job, and that I'm an 18 year old middle class college student. My parents haven't bought me a guitar since my first one.

Re: What Guitars Did You Buy...

I'd post a reply but the year is not over yet and I'm currently schemin' to get one more in before years end!!!!

God bless you. Man after my own heart. Seems like there's always some temptation around the corner, a great deal, a new model, something. In my case, a particularly attractive mid-priced import 335, SG, or LP can be hard to pass up, especially when it's priced to move. I already have spare PU's. All it takes is a nudge, and the next thing you know...

BTW, P-90's and HB-sized P-90's made a strong showing in my acquisitions this year.

I just remembered. I didn't buy any guitars this year, but I did buy a Peavey 5150 bottom cabinet so that I could make it a full stack.:)
