Ed came home one day and found Peavey with Satch, doin the boogie.
I think the Wolfgang and the new to be released wolfgangs are jsut plain ugly. Maybe they balance better, but I never liked the wolfgang design

on that tour Ed and His tech were putting the Peavey's down in Interviews... saying the trems were junk and they needed lots of spare parts to keep Ed's main Wolfies going...
EVH and his tech Matt Bruck...If the trems were failing, it's probably because neither of them knows how to set one up or maintain it properly.
I read an interview with EVH about his "luthier" work, like chopping holes in his guitars with hammers to make things fit. If he tried to make a living in music shop working on guitars, he'd have been put in jail years ago. The guy should never be allowed in the same room as a tool. And he's also the one responsible for the fact that he has zero credibility with his endorsments. Burn the companies that support you! Good plan.
well in an interview he said that he used to have to mod his guitars himself to make them work the way that HE wanted them too because no one made stuff that he wanted, so he would have to make it himself. i agree that some of his methods were a bit "out there" but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get what YOU want.
its just business between a eccentric artist and a company.
Yeah it makes me sick but what can you do? You just cant believe all the crap you hear from the get go.
I mean if you look back at every endorsment deal that EVH did he always says something to the point of " This is the best!" or " Finally someone got it right" and then some years down the line he dogs the same product.
So whoever gets stuck with that product feels like an idiot. Too bad for us that we dont get these products made by private luthiers and dont pay for them.
So its all baloney.
I felt that way when he got together with Fender and was saying all this hooey about how they finally got it right and blah blah blah. I was watching that saying " yeah till you get pissed about soemthing and totally change your mind."
thats why i cant stand most 'artist' products. Its just so geared towards 'kids' and their 'heroes'
I agree as well on getting him back to using Strat shaped bodies though. They just look more sleek and made for 'hot' playing.
I actually like the EBMM EVH model and the way it looks. I bought one myself, (though it's the AXIS) and like the cross between a Tele and Les Paul. EVH didn't design the body though, EBMM already had the design when he came on board, it was actually supposed to be another Albert Lee model, but they kept it for EVH- but digitized his neck, custom designed pickups, etc... It's still a fine guitar. (sorry for being defensive, but it is a great guitar).
The Peavey was a more comfortable guitar due to the arch top- which meant the neck had to be angled- which created a more comfortable playing position like a Les Paul. But the shape of the body? Not for me.
