What if you could only use one brand

Re: What if you could only use one brand

That's a hard one. My favorites would be Dunlop, Catalinbread and Empress.
Taking into account I've got minimal experience with the latter two's dirt pedals, I'd go Dunlop.

Re: What if you could only use one brand

For me the obvious choice is Boss

But a look at my current pedals may look like Joyo is in the lead
But they don't make a reverb pedal

Duncan doesn't make the assortment I would want

Biyang makes a good assortment
And I do like the ones I got

Used Boss it is . Cuz I'm cheap like that

Re: What if you could only use one brand

Tough call. I could live with MXR/Dunlop I think. They have some good modulations, good eq pedals, a variety of Dirt, and good wah and volumes.

Digitech crap I forgot about them
Change mine to Digitech

Re: What if you could only use one brand

This is a tough call. My cousin has been showing me videos of Way Huge pedals and they seem great but I've never tried one. I've always liked most Electro Harmonix pedals I have used but I could not imagine only using them since their pedals are so huge I would need a garage to park them. Boss always makes good products but at the end of the day I think I would have to pick Dunlop so I could have a Crybaby.

Me too. I should really check out those DOD reissues. Still loving my Super American Metal :).
I'd stick with Dunlop though as I own more of their stuff. Analog Chorus, Script D+, Supa Puss and Micro Amp + would cover quite a lot of ground for me.

Re: What if you could only use one brand

GuitarStv brand. I'd just build all my own pedals (instead of half the pedals like now) in this scenario. No one brand quite covers all the sounds I like to have on my board.

This. It's cheaper to build my own pedals than buy the pedal I want. A Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe would've set me back $200. I made mine for $30.

Re: What if you could only use one brand

I'd HATE to have to stick with one brand, but if forced, it'd probably be Boss do to variety, availability, and price. There are other specific pedals I like much better than some Boss pedals, but no pedal line is better IMO.

Re: What if you could only use one brand

Most of mine are Boss. But, I want a delay and tried a Visual Sound H2O and it's the best sounding delay or chorus I've used so they are a close second.

Re: What if you could only use one brand

I'd be able to work with MXR, Wampler, or TC Electronics for all of my needs. Whichever was the seed pedal would decide what the rest would be. LOL

Re: What if you could only use one brand

Dunlop which includes MXR, Way Huge, Fuzz Face, Cry Baby and Custom Audio Electronics.

If it wasn't for my Vox Delay Lab (tap, 30 presets, looping and multiple delay modes) I would be there already. Push came to shove I could live with just my Carbon Copy, but I wouldn't be super happy since most of the Delay lab's extra features amuse me if I get bored.

Re: What if you could only use one brand

Badger Effects. (Trilogy, 1011, etc)

Electro-Harmonix!!!! Reasonably priced, sound great on almost any amp, tube or S.S., & they are built like brick poop houses! If you had asked me the same question 2 years ago I'd say MXR, I have dozens of them, it all started with a E-H Soul Food that I bought for the switchable buffered to true bypass! I was running a long pedal chain & had a little tone loss, the Soul Food didn't cost much more than a plain old buffer so it was a no brainer? Now I've got a version of just about every E-H pedal made! I think even their Nano's are superior to other brands, just my opinion though?

Re: What if you could only use one brand

I think Earthquaker has the best fuzzes of any company that has a full line of effects. I'd look for dirt first, everything else second. Electro-Harmonix has amazing vaiety, and Catalinbread would also be worth looking into.
