Re: What if you could only use one brand
After re-thinking this, I'm going to say BBE and put them at the top of my list.
First, they have a great boost in the Boosta Grande, and a boost is an integral part of my sound. They offer another boost under the G&L brand, the Double Barrel, which is slightly different.
They have a couple of different compressors.
They have several OD, distortion and fuzz boxes to choose from.
I REALLY like their Ben-Wah. I'm kicking myself for not getting one I saw at the last guitar show I went to. One of the best.
I don't think they offer a phasor, but their Mind Bender (chorus), Soul Vibe, and Tremor (tremolo) pedals are all very nice, and those would cover 90% of my modulation effects needs.
For delay, they have the Two-Timer with switchable settings. No tap tempo, but it works as well as my current delay, a Rocktron Short-Timer. A very under-rated pedal that's going on my board soon.
And then there's the Sonic Stomp, which in some rigs could be a very handy pedal.
I think all of these are true bypass, and they come with a 9-volt adaptor. BBE-even offers a Supa-Charger power supply. They all have a 5-year warranty, so they are built to last. Best of all, they don't sell at boutique prices.
Unfortunately, that leaves me without a tuner or a phasor, but I think BBE offers a broad range of pedals that could suit me well.
But there is always Boss, and they are hard to beat. The best option might just be a GT-100 enhance it from there.
