Marshall JTM45/100 - Hendrix
Supro Thunderbolt - Page
Fender Champ - Clapton
Fender Tweed Deluxe/Vox AC30 - Beck
The champ is very small. You get to pick an extra one.
it's probably the biggest amp of the bunch...not only Clapton/Allman on Layla but Walsh, Gibbons, Beck... used this gigantic tone machine...
Lab Series
Intresting that the amp that most of us agree on so far is the Vox AC 30.
I always leaned toward the twin models
In fact I judge all modelers on how well they do Fender Twins
This was my primary clean chorus when I was in my Rush phase... Hard to beat depth snd sparkle other than Jc120I've heard nothing but great things about those. I'll probably need to pay for a divorce lawyer before getting one though, so I'm saving up.
I was actually kidding about the Lab Series. A horrible sounding amplifier, at best. You can get some decent cleans, but that's about it.I've heard nothing but great things about those. I'll probably need to pay for a divorce lawyer before getting one though, so I'm saving up.

I've read the Lab was the first great SS amp. Then again, I've read a lot of things on the internet and I'm starting to get suspicious.
Its all about context... No crunch or tube tone at all... But totally loves, flangers, chorus, phase, really all modulation blossem because of the cleans and headroom..I had the l7 and wish I had never sold mine...I was actually kidding about the Lab Series. Actually if I were to do a Mount Rushmore of solid state amps it would be
LabSeries L5
Roland JC120
Peavey Bandit
ZT Lunchbox
Orange CR120?

No doubt man, also the Marshall VS100 or the Randell Orange Stripes. There are plenty of great solid state amps out there.

If we talk solid state, we need to put at least one of the more jazz centric ones like the Polytone, Henriksen or Evans. Even Quilter.
