Re: What is the truth about Ernie Ball Slinky's?
That's the truth.
I have really corrosive body chemistry. I have the same problems with SITs, GHS, D'Addario, and even Elixirs. I melt that stuff off of the Elixirs in a matter of hours. It literally turns to goo on the strings.
The only brand that lasts for me are DR. I can use any of their lines - the pure nickel ones, the tite fits, even the hi beams and they last forever and never break on me. Once every 10-15 packs or so, I'll find a bad string that either breaks when I'm stringing it up or just won't tune / intonate for me, but it's a small price to pay when you consider that before I switched to DRs I was changing strings about once every 8 days and now it's more like every other month (if that).
It depends on your body chemistry.
