What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

I'm going to get a Avatar 2x12 cab with V 30's and a Peavey XXL footswitch and then a Boss Ns-2

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

my list:

lil' 59 neck black for my esp/ltd mv-200
a phat cat bridge and new pots and maybe a new pickguard and switch for my ibanez GRX40
a 30 watt solid state combo (that's all i'll ever need)

and during that time i'll need to figure out when i can make a 2 loop true bypass box (one loop for my Ibanez TM-5 and one for my Zoom 505-II)

after that, i'm done until i buy a house then its:

Mesa Rectoverb combo
Baby Grand Piano

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

First I'll have the frets leveled on my Strat-copy. Then I'll order another Benedetto A-6 for my custom Artist. Finally I'll have a small - probably hybrid - practice combo made by Hackmann.

EDIT: ...I also need hardshell cases for my guitars. :)

Finish paying off the RR-1, get a reverb pedal or possibly multi-fx unit, then either a new cabinet or new guitar.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

I'll probably be getting into scale-down mode. A few amps are left to be sold off and then I'll probably plateau for a good long time.

I own 9 guitars. 2 sit in storage. The other 7 get played. I don't need or really want any more. I have a hard time justifying those 7.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

My course of action is to stay the hell away from guitar stores! That's how I get into trouble.

Honostly, though, I have too many as it is (my talent level sure as hell doesn't justify owning a total of 10 guitars). I don't have any GAS for anything right now (and by right now I mean this minute... what I have GAS for typically changes with the tides). My next real course of action is to shoot clear on the Ibanez and get it put back together, then figure our the paint scheme for the Warmoth SG and get it painted and rocking. I need to focus gear money on some live gear that we'll be needing (hopefully).

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

This summer I should finish my DIY/Warmoth which I've spent the last 3 years building (during the summers). Plus I need to rebuild/refinish the case it will be going into (new hardware, tolex, interior etc ...)

I got a fat tax return coming in (once I decide to file for the damn thing - my life is in general chaos right now). Plus I'll start work on the 13th of June which will mean a nice paycheck coming in

So from that point onwards it's Amps time.

I have a 2 amps I know I want to get my hands on (luckily they are ones that fly under the radar), and 2 other amps which are possibilities. Plus I'll have to get a cab+speaker cables to play through. P_lus I'd like to try out some of the kit amps out there.

Outisde of that there are a few pedals which I'd like to get my hands on (but no real rush).

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

The summer time is the best time for me to buy gear since I'm in school. I'm in the process of buying a strat from a forum member. I think I'll be done buying guitars for a while after this one. I'll have a good diverse choice of guitars, a strat, tele, LP Jr. and Ibanez GAX70. I am also gonna drop some money on a nice amp this summer. If I have planned my money management right for this summer I should have around $1700 to spend on an amp. I am really leaning towards a Dr. Z. Then that will leave me around $600 to start school with.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

summer/fall-schecter c-1 FR
xmas/spring/summer-mesa F-50
might be the other way around, I'm not sure.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

I am as close to gas free as I can ever remember being. I'm tweaking my guitars with things like locking tuners and upgraded pots and caps. Maybe a custom shop pup order here and there. Oh,and an OD/Distortion unit with a boost: Banzai Fireball, Carl Martin Plexi Drive....something along those lines.

I do want to acquire a head to compliment my combo. I would like to have either:

Two Rock Emerald
Silver Jubilee
Splawn 50w Custom

I'm having my current amp repaired at Splawn, and he is modding my cab as well.

My only guitar Gas is a LP Junio with P-90's. They can be had for $600, so not too bad.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

This is probably about the order I'll try to get them in.

Electrics:

Frankenstrat kit guitar
Les Paul copy in vintage burst(probably Heritage, unless I can find a great deal on a Gibson)
ES copy red or blue(same as LP)
custom neck-through tone monster (still working out finer details), probably black

Amps:
Hotrodded Marshall (plexi/800/900) or Peavey 5150
undecided boutique amp (possibly instead of above amp)

Acoustics:
I've got the only acoustic I'll need. If I really get fired up about it, maybe a Hummingbird or high end Martin/Taylor.

Somewhere in the mix, I'll get a bass and bass amp, though I have no clue what kind.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

This summer: My Mesa is going out, hopefully (please everyone keep your fingers crossed for me) I'll be able to trade it in for a Bogner oversized 2x12. My mom has agreed to give some money because I can pretty much call myself graduated, so with that cash I'll buy a boutique pre-amp (VHT GP3, Axis Excalibur or Climax S3 we'll see). I'll also buy a Marshall 2x12 Vintage stock loaded with greenbacks. A month after I'll buy a new wah (Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, Budda Bud or Automagic) and replace all my cables with top notch ones.

December 2005: I hope I'll have enough to get a VHT 2/90/20 poweramp. After that I hope to be drowning in tone extasy :)

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

my plan is to somehow motivate my lazy ambitious-less bandmates who never want to do anything. we havent jammed in a month, and our drummer sucks so bad that no bassist wants to play with him.

A friend of mine who has an excellent feel for drums and bass might finally get a set this august, ill help him get it, and he will replace my current **** drummer. We've jammed with him and we always have an awesome jam even though he lacks the technique (doesnt own a set) he has so much feel and creativity i dont give a ****.

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

i have my SG, my EL34-driven single recto, and my marshall 4x12. this setup alone gets me such a huge variety of tones that i don't know what else i would get.

sometimes i wish i had a rackmount dual recto, but honestly i can't justify getting one, and i'm already damn satisfied with my amp currently. but i do want to add a good delay to my rig.

maybe i could get more SG's....

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

oh i might get a chorus pedal too

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

I've been slowly moving away from thrash and back into grunge/doom/stoner, so I've been making some "adjustments" to my rig.

I just traded in a bunch of unused stuff for a couple new pedals (Boss OC-3, RV-5), bought two more the previous week (Analogman Beano, Chicago Iron Parachute Wah), and have another one on order (Boss CE-20). Unless things change (as they always do), that should pretty much set my pedalboard for awhile.

I'm also paying off a MkIIB 1x12 combo that I plan on using for smaller stuff, but I might also use it for the octave off my OC-3 when I'm using the Recto for the main sound.

The only other change I plan on making is replacing the EMG 81 in my LP with an 85....I need something with more bottom end for the stuff I'm playing now.

I feel like such a whore....

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

I just got the Goth V, there's another Ibanez RG on the way, and I think there's a mint black-cherry Charvel Model 6 in my very near future :D

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

my plan of action is to get back to where i would have been had my apartment not gotten robbed. I will only replace my tele out of the stuff that was taken and hasn't been replaced already.

before the tele can be replaced though, i have Aaron working on a guitar for me (single cut with p90's)

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

For now, I seem to be clear of any real GAS... Of course, there is always a wishlist, but I actually prioritize mine to minmize financial harship....

I do have a few small mods/upgrades that are in order...

1) A Weber 12" Cali Speaker for my Fender HRDx
2) Tuner and Tremolo Upgrades
3) Pot/Cap upgrades on my guitar
4) Pot/Cap upgrades/mods on my amp

I would like to build one of the P1's from AX84, but that can hold off until I get some of the other stuff completed!

Fingers crossed....The next case of GAS can occur simply by hearing a song, or opening a mag!!!

Re: What is your plan of action!?! Gearwise of course!

I NEED a better/newer wah pedal. Not too much to ask really. :)

I WANT a Tele. And a kick-arse rock 'n' roll axe I can put my Custom / '59 pups in. Possibly a V or Explorer. Or LP number 3. :naughty:

And something with P90s would be nice. I can't see me getting that far AND staying married though.
