Re: What pickup do you use when tuning?

I only have a bridge pickup in my V and it works just fine.

Re: What pickup do you use when tuning?

Use the neck pickup to get less overtones which comfuse the initial tuner reaction. You should only pick over the 12th fret also to get the fundamental. Tuners love this. Try it and see!!!!!

Re: What pickup do you use when tuning?

I'm going to try tuning with the neck pickup when using the digital tuner. Thanks for the tip.

Re: What pickup do you use when tuning?

Neck pickup with the tone rolled off and the volume down to about 3 or 4.

My strobostomp is a bit picky, but once its in tune, its friggin in tune.

Re: What pickup do you use when tuning?

Neck pickup, volume on 10, tone on 0 and a recent addition is picking the note at the 12th fret instead of where I play. I saw a post on the latter somewhere and it's been working for me. I almost always use my tuner nowdays too.

Middle position (Les Paul)
Pretty much kills those overtones.. Tuners NEVER jump for me.
