What pup do you use in the bridge of your Stratocaster?

What type of sound would that be?

The Twangbanger gives me anything from a great clean Fender Surf sound, great quack in the middle/bridge with the 5 way switch, and the best thing, it sounds great for high gain overdrive. IMHO, this is the only Strat bridge pup that does it all.

+1 I'm having a hard time trying to find something it Can't do? It passes all my test's with flying colors. :D

Re: What pup do you use in the bridge of your Stratocaster?

One Strat has a Super Distortion, and the other has an EMG-81.

Re: What pup do you use in the bridge of your Stratocaster?

1 Strat has a Bareknuckle Crawler humbucker in the bridge, while another has a Duncan Antiquity Texas Hot Custom bridge pickup :)

I tried the TB once. Great pup, but a little too much "twang" for me.
I have a Vintage Rails in the bridge of one, and an SSL-3 in another.

Pretty much covers it for me!

Re: What pup do you use in the bridge of your Stratocaster?

Single Coil size:

Twangbanger in my Hamer Daytona
Texas Hot Custom in my Homebrew '57 RI Strat
Tapped Tele Hot in my '88 Squier Strat
'63 Fender Strat pickup in my stock '63 Strat
Stack Plus in my Strat with Stack Plus pickups

Humbuckers:
59 Trembucker
Custom Trembucker
Custom Custom Trembucker

Re: What pup do you use in the bridge of your Stratocaster?

Both Custom Antiquity Bridges. One rewound and tapped by Zhangliqun.I like the Texas hot better than the TB.The surfer has much more treble but will take high gain much more clearly.

I agree. Of the single coil size bridge pickups, I like the Texas Hot Custom best of all and I like it a little better than the Twangbanger. Not that I don't also like the Twangbanger...I do, and I use it too! But the TH Custom bridge seems to have more complexity and texture to the tone whereas the TB seems a little more one dimensional. Lew, do you have any pics of your Hamer Daytona? Those are the same pups I am using in my 2001 Fender American Series Strat.:smokin:

I do, but it seems like anytime I try to put a photo on this site I get a message telling me it's to big! My Daytona is a beautiful Sea Foam Green model with a mother of pearl pickguard. It's not a super-lightweight and it sounds fairly bright, so the Twangbanger is a good match for it. It came with three APS-1's and I removed the bridge pickup and put a Twangbanger in it. Lew
