The poll is virtually crap, first of all, but before I make the threadstarter angry...
Songwritng first: Taking the idea of pop music, short catchy songs that make you to bob your head, though my songs aren't as syrupy and can exceed the 5 minute mark, but are to the point nonetheless, no jamming off somewhere.
My past thrash influence dictates the songs arrangement, meaning wherever it's gonna go... No specific rules! But, a cohesive song is paramount.
Playing wise, perhaps there's an emphasis on power chords (I don't analyze) to make solid bricks for songs, the mood and emotion, as opposed to stand alone riffs, if you will. I feel power chords can sound very dynamic when used in such a manner-- more than one first realizes.
Also, to illustrate what I play, and sound, like is Slash and Izzy Stradlin' using modern heavy metal tone. (Does my music parallel Guns N' Roses? No.)
I hate playing acoustic guitar and clean guitar (though my disdain is subjective), so it's distorted guitar 99.9% of the time!
Overall, I'd say in response to your question, my style is hard/heavy/punk-ish/metal-interspersed/mainly rock n' roll for the whole family!

Holy thread resurrection WhoFan... 2004???
I guess you could call my band more in the Rock/Pop genre than anything else, although there are traces of everything from metal to blues to funk somewhere in there.
