For plectrum work - then pretty much straight down the line rock./hard rock, although I do use one or two fingers and pick interchangably depending on the song......
but I play a LOT of fingerstyle stuff as well on acoustic...
i play blues and rock mostly but ive been known to rip a spanky country lick or a delay soaked decending 3 octave run, or a jazzy chromatic line. i play guitar, everybody has the same notes, its all what you do with em
Rock!! From the Beatles to BLS and in between. Someone suggested that even though we play similar music (probably even the same songs) we do so differently. I agree completely. I have gotten together with other guitarists and we've tried to jam the same song, and there was a train wreck!!! Everyone had there own influences that caused them to re-arrange the music in there style. After a few takes, of course we met in the middle and had a nice fresh take on a cover song, but in the beginning there was noise!!
Rock for me as well..... i love loud distorted type playing the best... but i have been in lighter rock bands.... I played stuff that i would never listen to myself just to get out and play.... My heart was not in it and i left... I'm a huge fan of The Who of course but i also have ahuge liking for 80's metal.....
I'm a really british blues kinda player in my main style... and I don't strech that far from blues... except alot of blues rock or just plain rock & roll sometimes... but not too much heavier than 60 or 70s rock.
