WHat way would you do it?

Ok i have 3 options for this guitar i am building. Originally i was going to direct mount both pickups but have since decided against it.

How would you do it?

1. This is what i think would be the easiest and cleanest looking.

2. Modded single coil ring

3. A single ring that does both. Artist impression hehe. Obviously this is just a quick pHotoshop mock to give a visual aid,

This is what i was originally going to do but i had a few chip outs due to the extremely tight fit.

Re: Which way would you do it?

Blue. I reckon those pickups will just get in the way of all of yo' frets.

You should purchase DreX's pickup test rig. Mount the pickups upside down, above the strings. :D

EDIT - Your frets slots are spaced at interesting distances. What musical scale will the instrument adopt?

I would do the Mini pickguard with both pickups

the fret spacing intrigued me as well

micro-tones?

Re: WHat way would you do it?

You guys are weird. its just missing the 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36th frets. :)

what you want on the electronic huh dude?, also, wich way depends heavily on the guitar finish

All natural and the electronics are complicated.

hoping the result will be like this. using a ibby neck simulator from a rg550xh.

so natural, then i suggest a matching wodden mini pickguard man

now what you want electronically seems complex dude

I could do that but i would have to order more wood. I like the idea of some plastic as i already have matching knobs, switch cover and jackplate.

Thinking i will just go with my first option. Waiting for some jumbo evo fretwire, excited.

I like the mini pickguard option ,are you gonna put in the missing frets ?

Re: WHat way would you do it?

I think you need to do one with a piezo pickup bridge and run the fretboard all the way to the edge bridge

Re: WHat way would you do it?

I'd say choice 3...in my opinion it looks the best

Damn it 3 for 3. Whats wrong with option one anyway? haha i have mini maple pg on the mind now. The clearance between the edge of the single coil and the height screw for it is around 2.5mm which means there isn't much room. I can see myself making the whole thing and then drilling the holes and it fails.:baby: plastic might be a better option all round.

Damn have to go to work in a min. Working sucks.

#1 Looks like you are too lazy to get it right and that you don't care about aesthetics and that mounting rings are for whenever you want them... jk!

I just think #3 looks more complete

Re: WHat way would you do it?

Raph how do you want to wire it? I can help

- Electronics Guy #3

Thank ya pepi. I will contact the fartiepoo and see if he has made any progress.

basically i want this.

But with the shadow in the bridge position.

So in turn it will mean that the neck simulated sound will come from the shadow which is fully eq adjustable. So a stacked eq system. I know it can be done artie has told me its just he is hell busy atm.

I guess the humbucker/single wires on the shadow would be the series link. So its just the eq output/input which i don't know how to integrate.
