what will be your next amp??

Re: what will be your next amp??

Rivera M60, should be here this week. I liked the gain/dist. of the 1st channel, but I plan on buying a Tele to take advantage of the great cleans this thing has.

Re: what will be your next amp??

No amp-GAS here, my amplification just in 98% has the sound what I always wanted. If I have some extra money, I'll collect some of them amps, 50W-EL34:

Laney Klipp
Laney GH50L
a dosen of different Marshalls (JCM800, DSL50 and a truckload of other 50W-ers)

In case of extra money resource:
VHT Pitbull CL
Bogner Ultrabrewtallicum Maximum :)

Re: what will be your next amp??

I think ive got enough amps....now its time for speaker cabs and pedals and guitars!

I smell a banzai fireball 2 or something similar for a dist pedal, a fultone clyde deluxe wah hopefully, a line6 delay/reverb modeller, perhaps a line6 blue effects modeller or some other effects pedals or rack unit for choruses and flangers and stuff, an attenuator of somekind (probably hotplate), and a 4x12 with celestion g12h30's!

Well thank you very much, you just reminded me of how much stuff i actually want!!! :argh:

Re: what will be your next amp??

Line 6 rocks for recording and jamming at home, but for live i want a nicer amp.

what that is yet i dont know! :D

Re: what will be your next amp??

I'm going to play around with my DSL50 for a while. I'm not too happy with the Ultra Drive channel yet, so I'm thinking an attenuator is in order so I can push those power tubes a bit harder. Might look into some JJ Tubes as well. I think the tone I want it in there, just have to find it.

If I bought any amp it'd be a Line6 so that I could record in my apartment to my computer and still salvage some tone.

Re: what will be your next amp??

- Original Hiwatt Custom 100 or DR w/matching full stack :D

- Rivera Knucklehead full stack

- Orange stack

- Marshall Plexi or JTM45 full stack

- Marshall 18 watts....

too much to list!!

Pls keep Gearjoneser away from this thread... !!!

Re: what will be your next amp??

i don't mean to fan the flames but how about either a rivera chubster, or a divided by thirteen (the ert 33 is so damn tasty)

Re: what will be your next amp??

For gigs, I think I'll always use my Ecstasy 101B. I bought both the 4-12 and the large closed back 2-12, so I can tailor it to the size of the venue.

As far as my passion for amps, I love my Matchless, Jubilee stack, and get a lot of use out of my Vox Valvetronix AD60 head/Bogner 2-12 for low volume practice.

Financially, I'm holding myself back buying an awesome amp right now. I have the opportunity to buy a 59 Bassman LTD in laquered tweed for $750, and want it badly, but it's hard to justify since it won't be a main amp, just a tone toy. Amps are funner to me than guitars. There's nothing like having one wall dedicated to all your favorite amps, then plugging into whatever moves you. Guitars all seem the same, in comparison. Im gonna update my gearpage this week. I got some SICK pictures coming!!!

Re: what will be your next amp??

I have been researching amps myself. These are the ones I've test driven in the last 2 months. Boutique only.
Bogner-shiva and uba something-did not like at all-my personal taste, great amp
Budda 80 $3500.00 very temping does a lot of things pretty well
Carr's 4 models only remembe the 6v something
Dr Z
Zinke, small but sweet.
FUCHS-$way up there
Mojave- all four models, Scorpion 50 watt my favorite, probably will get.
60 something bassman w/cab used-this was pretty awesome sounding
Germino Lead 50 very temping
Conford-Hell Cat- this is one amazing amp, 35 watt, but about $5k with cab-not
Engl cool amp
Deizel very versatile $5k not
Top Hat cool, but no
Bad Cat
78 Marshall JMP.
I seem to like to amps that are somewhat modeled after the marshall plexi about 68 from what I understand. This era amp sets the stage for the rest. That's why I will probably buy the Mojave Scorpion it has the marshall plexi-tone nailed, but improved in many ways. What I liked about it is hard to put in words, but it moves me unlike all the others I 've tried

Re: what will be your next amp??

i reeeeeally want an old 2 channel dual rectifier to play around with. or perhaps the rackmount version.

Re: what will be your next amp??

At the moment I'm liking the idea of a Fender for some decent clean sounds, but when I need some dirt it will be one of the following:

Cornford Mk50 Head
Cornford RK100 Head (Richie Kotzen signature)
Peavey JSX

Oh man it never stops. I just got this past month a brand new Voodoo V-plex whic is a replica of a 1968 plexi all P-t-p, and I am already looking for something else........I am stilllwaiting to get my new guitar as well (Gauge guitars).....Since I have a plexi I might get something with a bit more gain. I can get god cleans with the plexi. The SLO sounds amazing. There is also the JCM 800 w/ a SD-1 in front of it, very tempting.......I used to have a Suprema 55 mod by voodoo amps. I wish I had not sell it but couldn't afford to have two amps like that at the same time.
Maybe what I need is a bombo....I already have a head and a 4x12 so a combo think will do for now.......I hope......

Re: what will be your next amp??

Some 2x12 combo or a head and 2x12 cab. Not sure about specifics. A fender 2x12 with a decent pedal at front? DSL50? Laney GHL50??? Dunno
