I heard a ts-10 live. Ibanez. Better to my ears than the reissue ts-9. Same kind of sound, ever so slightly different texture.

If so, I think an instantly foot-switchable e.q. change is by far the most useful "effect" any musician could have on hand, generally speaking. You can set it however you want to get an instant tonal change without having to monkey with knobs or pickup switches. Treble boosters are also great, though in a much more limited way; they are basically a preset e.q. change, and the knob controls the intensity of the change.

No the Minifooger line is pretty straight forward with the exception of the Ring Modulator. Boost, Drive, Delay and an awesome Trem Pedal. The cool thing about the Trem is you can change the shape of the wave. You can go as aggressive as you would like it does a great Fender "How Soon Is Now" aggressive tremolo or you can mellow it out as much as you would like. I think it does the original UniVibe sound much better than the Dunlop UV-1. The big thing is the Minifoogers are priced nice.

If you are looking for a cheap vibe to get your feet wet, I recommend the Danelectro Chicken Salad. It uses real photocells just like the big guys. With two small mods (line some foil around the lamp and drill a hole to access the "throb" trimmer) you've got a real contender. I replaced mine with a Fulltone, which I replaced with a Wilson Haze. The Chicken Salad definitely held me over and I wouldn't hesitate putting it back on my board if I needed to.
