the new Q-tron and the Mutron II were designed by the same guy...quite a few of the parts are different but the tone is pretty close, they work differently (the controls are different) but the end result (the overall tone) is pretty similar.

yeah, the q-tron. Not as good as a mu-tron, but closer than the other envelope filters about.
A friend has the mu-tron 3 and it's just the fartiest, wettest envelope filter you'll ever hear. Too cool.
